• OK, so I guess it's up to me to ask about the elephant (or is it jackass) in the room.
  Were any of these pardons given to white guys?

  • I couldnt find any info on the demographics of this latest batch but if the pardons from earlier in the year are an indication only A small amount were white Same with brown guys. Didn't see any yellow or red guys

• The libertarian streak in me does not believe in life terms for drug possession. The country should legalize all this stuff. All of it. Take the crime factor out of addiction. Imagine if alcoholics had to steal to support their beer habit? I believe drug prohibition is a big failure.

  But - I do wonder if anyone will keep track of the recidivism rate of the people who were given these pardons/commutations? I would hope they would take advantage of their second chance and that some poor innocent person does not have to suffer the consequence of someone's return to crime. Yeah, I need to take my red pill.

• In other news, Obama just signed an executive order banning oil drilling in the Arctic and North Atlantic. Anything the fuck the country before he leaves office.

• Suspense continues to mount over the question of BO issuing a blanket pardon for Her Majesty before he leaves office; the key point is probably whether or not there is enough cash left in the Clinton Global slush fund to pay for it.
