Isn’t it unny how Obama’s buying beachfront properties on islands with global warming caused sea-level rise happening. This happens to be the estate where Magnum PI was filmed.

Those sea walls are my pet peeve. My family knows you can't even mention the subject of sea walls without me going into a tirade about how wrong they are. Wrong on so many levels. Wrong because they ruin the beautiful beaches that bring everybody to the shoreline in the first place, and wrong because THEY DON'T WORK. I can tell you what will happen to every single property that builds itself a sea wall: somewhere down the line a big storm will knock the shit out of that sea wall and the property owners will go begging to the federal government for disaster relief and you and I, the overburdened middle class taxpayer, will end up paying for that wealthy owner's stupidity.
The next time you get a chance to watch an old Two and Half Men episode, notice how close those Malibu beach houses are to the water, with nary a sea wall in sight. How is that possible? Well, it's because a loose (sandy) shoreline left to its own devices will build up a gradual slope that causes the incoming waves, no matter how large they are, to waste all their energy in rising up, so that they have little energy left by the time they get to dry land. In Hawaii you can sit on the beach ten feet from the water where truly monstrous waves are incoming, and not even get wet because of that natural slope.
When you build a sea wall you erase that ability to maintain a natural slope. You might be okay for a while because the previous slope is still there protecting the wall, but eventually it washes away, the water becomes deep right up to the wall, and the ocean or lake is beating its waves directly against the wall. And nothing man can make stands a chance against the fury of the ocean.
Of course barky took care of one of his "buddies". It gives them a place to be "bros" right on the beach. Here is hoping a shit eating shark strikes the next time either one is in the ocean.
