Oldest living WWII veteran victimized by fraud, bank account now empty. He says ‘he’s angry and he wants to shoot somebody.” Everyone who’s decent is angry and many of them would like to shoot the perp(s) too.

I do private duty in a local ALF. My current clients are a 95 yes old WWII veteran and his 89 yr. old wife, who has severe dementia. I can tell you from first hand knowledge, this field is LOADED with the scum of the earth parasites. I gurantee it was one of the workers that came in to look after him that did this! My patients have been stolen from, as well as me! One girl used to hit me up weekly with one BS story after another about her money falling out of her pocket, not working enough hours to pay the rent, and constantly begging me to buy her food. Mind you she had her CNA ( through job corps ). If you are CONSTANTLY going to beg for money, don't smoke weed right before you come to work, it penetrates your weave 🙄. Complaints to the facility fell on deaf ears, even when she was caught in their closet going through his pockets. My patients are being moved to a different facility, which I hope will be better, we shall see. I am at the point where I am just ABSOLUTELY disgusted with people. Sadly, this story is a prime example.

I guess I will never get it. Don't these people have family? Children and grandchildren who can see to their well being? I remember two of my great grandmothers, we hillbillies get an early start (snicker) and they died at home. My grandparents died in their own beds, taken care of by family. Our father died at home and so will our mother. And if something happens to me I have four younger brothers who will step up to take care of her. We don't hide our elders in some home, we take care of our own no matter what.
Sounds like you are dedicated to these folks so I agree, get them to a better facility. And on your last day where you are at drag the thief out to the parking by her hair and lay an asswhupping on her she will never forget! Hell, get someone to record it so you can post it here and give all us a good laugh!
I consider it an honor to take care of both of them. Prior to them I cared for another WWII vet. Amazing what you can learn from them, and easy to see why they are called The Greatest Generation! 🇺🇸
The thief I mentioned is gone, she got another job where sadly I am sure she will continue her despicable behavior 🙄. I assure you nothing would make me happier than to beat that little bitch to a pulp! 😠
Good for you and your family for taking in the elders. That is exactly how it is done in my family also. The number of abandoned people in the current facility is just heartbreaking! One 94 yr. old lady has been dumped there by her son. That Dickhead shows up every 2-3 months. The poor dear is so very lonely she invents ailments to get attention. She calls the Dickhead at least 30 times per day ( he never answers). He took away her cell phone and the phone in her room, so he wouldn't be bothered. Her issue could be easily corrected if he 1. hired a "sitter" to spend a couple of hours a day with her 2. put her on anti-anxiety meds. There is a special place in HELL for him, I assure you.
Talk to the old ones and learn from them? Hell yes! After I got my head cleared up and laid off the heavy drinking I started visiting with older veterans at the American Legion, VFW, places like that. I met quite a few older vets who were in Korea and WWII and the stories those old men told would curl your toenails. A couple of old soldiers I met survived the Bataan Death March and their stories were not only harrowing, they were sickening. The hell they went though is unimaginable even to a river rat like me.
Being a New Mexican I have talked to many of the old Navajo Code Talkers. Even though they were hated, stuck off on some reservation so nobody would have to deal with them, they were still proud Americans and volunteered to go to war to help us win the war in the Pacific. Check out a movie with Nicholas Cage called Windtalkers. It's not a bad movie and it describes the roll of the Code Talkers very well. Did you know that the platoon leaders who had the Navajo with them also had orders to kill a Code Talker instead of letting him get taken as a prisoner? Their orders were to protect the Code at all costs. Here is a clip from the movie.

I'm getting a little long here but yes I agree with you about just sitting with the older folks and listening to their stories. I always cherished the moments I had with my great grandmothers, my grand parents, all the veterans I have met over the years. They are never boring and the education a person can get from the older folks is amazing.
I always enjoy watching Nicholas Cage, so I just ordered it for $5 from Wally World 👍

Sorry guys, reading about this old veteran who was robbed pisses me off so I am on a roll. I know Independence Day is a celebration of our founding. But for over 232 years Americans have fought and died to protect our great nation and that is the people I think about too. Not just our founding fathers and the writers of our Constitution, but the men and women who fought too. Baseball is coming on, time to think about lunch, so I promise I will be gone for a while. God bless America and all the men and women who have died for our great nation.

If this great man's bank is not helping him get his money back he should change banks. Only a sorry piece of crap, including a bank, would refuse to help this old veteran. I already warned everyone that I may get a little weird the next few days and this is one of those times. If I knew how I would hunt down the people who did this to this great man and shoot them myself. I may not like the way our idiot politicians are trying to screw things up but I will always love our country and the men and women who have, and are, serving it. Never forget folks. Never forget those who fought and the many who died protecting our nation.
