Seriously, the notion that they can make a self-driving car at this point in time is pure hubris. They can't even get my Alexa to understand a simple sentence like, "Let me know when the temperature gets lower than thirty two degrees." No way is AI advanced enough to drive a car. Shit, most 16-year-old PEOPLE aren't advanced enough to drive a car.

No laughing. She just says "Sorry, I don't know that" a lot. If I ask for Gladys Knight's best songs, she wouldn't think to ask me if I want her songs with the Pips included. So I only get her songs as a solo singer. One morning she was waking me up and had lost connection with the Internet. I kept saying, "Alexa, dismiss!" to turn off the f--ing alarm and she kept saying, "Sorry, I seem to have lost my connection to the Internet." Eventually I was screaming at her. Apparently she needs an Internet connection to turn off an alarm, don't ask me why. And I have three of these things and sometimes when I'm talking to one of them, another one will hear me from a different room and go apeshit telling me she can't hear what I said. And sometimes she will pick out something similar to the syllables A-Lex-A in normal speech and interrupt whatever conversation you're having with a "Sorry, I don't know that." Whereupon I will explain to my guest that it's just Alexa thinking she heard her name, whereupon I'll get another "Sorry, I don't know that" because I said her name! Very irritating.
AI has a long way to go, trust me.
