Not as big a drop as I expected but I did my part! I watched reruns of NCIS Los Angeles and New Orleans instead.
Yeah. I watched Puppy Bowl. Twice.
What the hell is a Puppy Bowl? Animal activists are as bad as eco-freaks.
It's just a show with puppies playing. Relax. It's not some "animal activist" thing.
For some reason, I don't give a single shit and I can't quite figure out why. Oh, I know. Because I don't give a single shit.
I'm all for the demise of all professional sports. They're the modern equivalent to Bread and Circuses back in the Roman Empire and we know what happened to that. Compare that era to the US.
Rise to power/dominance. Sports and other forms of entertainment to distract people from reality as things begin to decline. Overextended boundaries. Lower standards of living for the masses. Spending more than you can resulting in coinage/Currency that loses value over time to the point that it's essentially worthless. Sound familiar?
Professional sports, movies, music, they're what far too many people pay attention to in this country rather than the state of the country itself. The Romans worshiped their gods, this country's gods are people that play a game, "act" or "sing".
It may even be worse because of the number of modern coliseums in this country. The Romans would probably be jealous.
That's a good correlation you point out there. I'll add the demise of our once great education system in order to dumb down and inject liberal socialist ideas.
The educational system has certainly been dumbed down as liberal education policies have taken over. The Department of Education was started under Carter, that's all you need to know.
The left wants uneducated, obedient drones to follow them blindly.
Good jam at Pelosi, but sadly, it's probably true for the vast majority of our country. Instead of investing in their futures or paying down personal debt, most will piss it away on bigger/faster electronics!
Truth hurts MGAP! A good friend and his wife are retired. Both get social security checks and he get a nice retirement check from the union he worked for over 35 years. And they are always broke. Why? Because he has a $40,000 pickup with all the bells and whistles that they own on. They just bought a fancy SUV, all wheel drive dodge something that cost over $30 grand and they have payments on that. He has a 60 inch flat screen and about $200 per month in satellite bills. She has a kitchen a chef would love. And they always whine because they are broke?
I get a little over $2600 per month in retirement and social security and I have money in the bank! Poor boys know how to save, we know what it is like to be poor and never want to be that way again. So we work hard and save our money instead of buying a new pickup or car every few years just because we can. My old pickup is a 1977 F-250 that I have rebuilt from top to bottom and it cost a hell of a lot less than buying new one like it! And that brings me back on the point, people are foolish with their money and that is why so many are in financial trouble today.
