So true. It always amazes me to see a Roman road or bridge or viaduct or whatever still in good shape two thousand years later, while here in Michigan we can't build a road that lasts two years. I mean, WTF? It's not like we don't know how. Up in the UP there is a section of road that has a sign saying it's a test of new paving techniques, an experiment by Michigan State University yada yada. I don't get to the UP very often, but the point is I am almost 68 years old and have been driving by that damn sign MY WHOLE LIFE, AND THAT ROAD STILL LOOKS PERFECT. So the experiment obviously worked. Whatever you did there, you clowns, do it everywhere, so we don't have to live in a near constant state of road repair.
I-95 in Road Island has been under construction for decades. I think it's a payoff to the unions for voting for the Democrats.
The whole time we lived in Reno they were working on an expressway to Carson City. Nevada was probably the only state in the union without expressway to the state capital. As you drove to Carson City you could see the new expressway up on the side of the Sierra foothills, a spectacularly stupid place to build a road because of the high winds up there, and one day I asked a long-time resident when he expected they were going to have that expressway to Carson City finished (it's only thirty miles). "Well," he answered, "they been working on it for twenty years so we don't really have expectations anymore."
Meanwhile, as transportation is worse than I have ever seen in my lifetime, the Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttplug, is on ten weeks of parental leave? You could not make this shit up, it's too absurd. They're gay men. They didn't birth these babies, they bought them. Why does he need that much parental leave? What the hell is he recovering from?
Final question: if you're the Transportation Secretary and the whole nation is grinding to a halt because TRANSPORTATION IS FUCKED UP, don't you think you should cut your leave short?
Keep in mind that Butt boy was the mayor of Fort Wayne IN. The roads there are in horrible shape. The traffic sucks too.
