New polling shows that support for an “assault weapons” ban in the United States has hit an all-time low despite calls from Democrats to implement a ban following a deadly mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
In a Quinnipiac University poll, conducted last week and published on Tuesday, 50 percent of registered voters support a nationwide ban on semi-automatic long guns compared to 45% who oppose which represents the lowest level of support since February 2013 when Quinnipiac began asking that question.
The highest level of support for the ban was 67% in February 2018, days after the Parkland school shooting that left 17 people dead.

I've had a neighbor challenge why I wasn't pro gun control. I came back with I am "learn to properly control your weapon and be proficient in all aspects of it" his head started spinning. I followed up with this question "dont you own a gun or two?" knowing full well he did. Left them speechless and walked back across the street.
All you have to do to win this argument with any liberal you run into, is ask them to define “assault rifle.”
Yeah. Try and convince someone a selective fire M-16/M-4 isn't the same as an AR-15 and you can't just buy one at Big 5.
Well first of all I have never met a liberal who didn't insist AR stands for Assault Rifle, so right away they're off on the wrong track. They hear those fatal two letters "AR" and right away their silly-putty brains are imagining 50-caliber machine guns mowing down Vietnamese villages from helicopters.
All guns are intended for assault, so the whole notion of banning assault weapons or assault rifles is just a silly exercise in ignorance. That's why asking them to define it usually ends the whole discussion.
