  • Every day another Anti-Trump article? With all due respect give it a rest -- Trump is going to get the nomination. The future primaries aren't favorable for Cruz.

    The blame lies solely on the establishment themselves.

    • Why Ted? Now that Marco is gone, there's more votes for Ted. He might just beat Trump now.

      • Ted would already be beating Trump if you count the votes and delegates and slide the majority of those Rubio, Kasich, et al totals over to Ted. But now that Kasich guy will be all full of himself because he won his own state.

        • Kasich has no reason to be full of himself, Ohio is the only state he won, and the only one he will win. He's just doing the GOPe's dirty work. I'm sure the only reason Rubio dropped out is because the GOPe wants to consolidate their votes. They are hoping Kasich can get all of Rubio's support and beat Trump and Cruz. They just refuse to realize that anyone they support will not win, PERIOD.

        • Kasich was the leading figure in some slimy underhanded schemes to keep the Libertarian Party off the ballot in his home state. He's just another Republican establishment guy, and I could NEVER vote for him. Why do the Republicrats work so hard to keep Libertarians off the ballot? What are they afraid of?

        • Barely won his own state, did you watch any of his speech tonight? Gag me with a spooo'on, as they say in the valley.

          • Was just driving home and happened to hear Hannity putting the screws to a Kasich spokesman. Man, Hannity is not usually someone I like to listen to, but he was really pounding home the point that Kasich is simply screwing up the Republican race at this point, benefitting nobody except his own ego, and the only possible hope he has is to create a messy ugly convention. And neither Hannity nor the other guy, whoever he was, were buying any of the Kasich guy's excuses. It was fun to listen to.

  • Like that would make a difference to you if he did. Seems to me though that speaking of enforcing immigration laws, ensuring border security and military strength, reforming legal immigration, and reforming the tax code are exactly what you would want done to ensure all those things, rather than simply chanting them like magic words for the suckers at a carnival.

    • Trump would have credibility on immigration if he wasn't constantly profiting from the very flaws in immigration he denounces, and if he wasn't on the record as having said JUST A SHORT TIME AGO that Republicans who wanted to do something about illegal immigrants were "mean-spirited and maniacal." That was after the 2012 election. He's also said:

      "You've convinced me!" (after meeting with DREAMers in 2013)

      And here's what he said about illegals JUST LAST SUMMER on the O'Reilly show:

      "You have to give them a path. You have 20 million, 30 million, nobody knows what it is. It used to be 11 million. Now, today I hear it’s 11, but I don’t think it’s 11. I actually heard you probably have 30 million. You have to give them a path, and you have to make it possible for them to succeed. You have to do that."

      That's amnesty he's talking about, the same thing Rubio tried to pass, although I'm not confident that Trump is intelligent enough to know himself that's what he was saying. He's basically dumb as a rock, and covers it up with bluster and braggadocio.

      How people can drink so much Kool-Aid that they believe he's somehow going to be tough on illegals, is beyond my ability to explain.

    • Yea, but chanting them like magic words for the suckers at a carnival seems to me what Trump is doing.

  • Three of the most overused words in the political dictionary are Constitution, liberty and freedom so I don't see what the authors point is. Especially since the establishment politicians who use the words the most often in campaign speeches are the ones who have screwed us the worse the past thirty years.

  • A Constitutional Law Professor / Scholar can be a completely different animal than a Constitutional Conservative which Cruz has been, campaigned as and, I have no doubt, will be as President. That's why the establishment, media, the left and all the other candidates and their followers lie about him. Too many believe the lies although Cruz is what this country needs to shake loose of the bondage of liberalism, greed, crony capitalism and big government.

    • His wife works for Goldman Sachs, and took a "leave of absence" when he started campaigning. Do you really believe he's immune to lobbying/crony capitalism? If so, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale if you're interested.

      • Yes, I do believe Cruz is our best choice. He is hated by the establishment for being immune to lobbying/crony capitalism. And no, I'm not interested in anything you would have for sell.

      • I do believe it, else he wouldn't be for defunding plannedmurderhood.
        Also, not that I'm terribly interested in ANYTHING in NY save perhaps seeing spamalot, but i'd like to see a facsimile of your deed to that bridge.

      • Can you give one single example of Ted Cruz changing positions because of lobbying or crony capitalism? Because I could give you half a dozen examples of Donald Trump engaging in crony capitalism.

        And why the hell is "leave of absence" in quotation marks like it's a doubtful thing? Isn't that what she should have done? You have an investment banker who took a leave of absence versus a notorious bully and crony capitalist who has a history of warping the rules for his own benefit. I know which one sounds better to me.

  • I seriously never saw Trump and said... "This man is a Constitutional scholar" With THAT said supposedly Obama is a Constitutional scholar and well... that didn't work out... JUST saying. Not 100% sold on Trump, but JUST SAYING that Constitutional scholars don't have a good reputation right now.

    • That was my point earlier. Just because you have studied and understand The Constitution, does *not* mean you support or will defend it.

  • You'll hear Cruz say them but it doesn't mean he GAS about them. Hell, Barry was a "Constitutional law professor" that touted how things would be "different" under him and we all know how that turned out.

    Bottom line, this presidential race is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
