  • to Portman email:
This week, 43 Republican senators stood together to support governors opposing President Obama’s executive edicts on amnesty and immigration. However, 11 did not. And you're 1 of the 11. you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Resign.

  • Yes, the expected response from the usual suspects.
Unless someone runs against them and they are primaried, nothing will change.

  • It's a "brief" that opposes executive amnesty... and so what? What legal authority does it have... none? That would afford GOP bivalves like McConnell the luxury of supporting it.

The filing is not more politics, read an editorial in Investor’s Business Daily.

“In truth, it’s a principled stance for the constitution’s separation of powers that will strengthen democracy,” the editorial said.

Really? "not more politics"? How so? What's the expected result of this? A strongly worded letter? A symbolic vote? Perhaps the pantomime spine that is the Republican Party can join hands and sing a rousing rendition of, "How Dry I Am" in four part harmony... that'll show us they really really really really REALLY mean business.

    No, really!

Yes, those not joining the optics should hear from their base but if we haven't learned about the deceitful nature of those who would pantomime-represent our interests then we really are fools who deserve everything the progressives have in store.

At this point empty bits of symbolism amount to a stalling tactic against doing something of substance and this smacks of empty gesture politics solely done for election year image purposes. I don't buy it.
