Seriously Nancy? Why does anyone, regardless of political affiliation who’s been fired, retired, or quit, need to keep their security clearance? So they can leak stuff to newspapers for big payouts?

I think she just got things a little backwards. What she meant to say was that she didn't want any intelligence in her partisanship.
If you are not in the government, US Military or the intelligences agencies. There is NO NEED for a clearance of any type. When you are no longer working in any capacity, it is gone. Mine was and that is the way it should be for everyone. Time for all those that were with quagmire to lose theirs with out a doubt.
Called "Need to know/Right to know" None of these ex-administration pricks have a right or a need to know anything...
Try telling that to a liberal loon. I have been arguing with several who come up with this crap about Comey and Co. having their clearances "deactivated" unless needed again and that kind of crap. Others are saying that how are they going to brief the person that replaced them without a clearance.? They simply talk to them! Nobody needs a clearance to talk to their replacement about past policies and they don't need to hear about new policies. The entire thing is a FUBAR and why Trump just doesn't put an end to it, which he can do in one sentence, is beyond me.
That is like talking to a teenager. You might as well slam your head into a wall. The pain will be less and not last nearly as long.

Most times, when people leave a job, they keep the clearance,m but lose access. If, like these nut jobs, you have reason to suspend their clearance, you run that up the flagpole with your recommendation. I left the navy. Kept my clearance and transferred it to my civilian job.
Thank you for saying what I have been thinking since this announcement--I'm amazed that once you leave these offices, you retain your security clearance. Why? For what public purpose? If you want to go into a line of work, like work for a defense contractor, you can apply to have your security clearance reinstated. But once you quit your job, all security clearances should be revoked immediately.
She's correct; "partisanship in intelligence" is a bad thing, which is why BO, Her Majesty, and the rest of the Progressive gang deserve to go to jail.
