    Not sure this issue is going to die like Trump expects. It sounds like people are more irritated by his refusal to account for what did come in, as by the shortage. The Trump Campaign absolutely refuses to account for the money.

    • With Bob McDonald making his stupid comment, comparing VA wait times to the lines at Disney, Veterans won't be giving anyone slack.

  • OK so this needed clarification but in the end it is his fault or his handlers fault for not clarifying pledges vs actual donations. He needs to be careful, this is not a game. Anything and everything will come at him if he allows things to be slack like this.

  • I'm not surprised. Trump is an expert at exaggerating, and this whole thing was a ruse for him to avoid a debate that he would have gotten clobbered in. He's a master manipulator, and seems to me to be no better than Barky in some respects.

    I do love how a site called "I hate the media" uses some of the most distrusted sources of the media to cast aspersions on Trump.

    On edit: I have to give Trump credit for telling the truth. Have you ever heard of the underfunding of pledges (look that up in Websters) of any other charity?

    • If whatever amount he raised is good enough for you (and we still don't know how much), then why didn't Trump brag about that amount and be done with it? Why lie? And with all the lies he's been caught in, many of them stupid and pointless like this one, how can you trust one single word that comes out of his mouth? What do you say to yourself? "Yeah, he lies a lot but he's not lying about the IMPORTANT stuff?" Is that what you say to yourself?

        Trump didn't tell the truth. His (former?) campaign manager made the admission. Trump hasn't said a word since he bragged about raising $6 million.

        Which, just in case you've already forgotten, was a lie.

    • How much? How much was pledged and how much less was collected? You don't know because the Trump campaign won't tell anybody specifically what happened. So far all we have is guesses compiled by investigators who have to call charities and ask if they've received any of the money. Some charities won't answer because they don't want to anger Donald Trump who is known as a vengeful man. So they can only guess.

      And why would he brag about raising $6 million if it never happened? Is there any lie he can utter that you will not be okay with?

  • Okay that is really bad. That is as low as you can go if you are going to lie about something like that.

  • But Trump is a multi billionaire, so he should have no problem making up the difference from his small change pocket, right?

So yeah, he said he had $6 million for veterans and he used it as a talking point to win himself the nomination while calling his main opponent a liar--seems to me he should make up the difference out of his own pocket.

      • Not defending him but just to clarify, they're talking about 6 million, not 6 billion. While some are numb to numbers these days, that is a major difference. A billion is a thousand million. $6 million is a pittance by comparison.

        Moving on, someone running for public office lied??!!?!??! No! Say it ain't so! Unheard of and outrageous!
