  • Y'all know I'm not a Trump lover (he said proudly) but I'm not afraid to admit when he's right. The committee's excuses don't make sense. "Oh we tried, we really tried not to have the debate on the same night as an NFL game but there's just so many games!" I call bullshit. Just pick a night when there's no game. How hard is that? The NFL doesn't play on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday until the playoffs. That's four days of every week available for a debate. And these yahoos STUDY the problem and come up with a schedule where the first two of the three debates are up against NFL games? That's crap. They knew way ahead of time Hillary was going to be the nominee and they know she comes across in person like an ugly fence post peed on by coyotes. So they did their best to schedule them when nobody would watch.

    • No, JP, he is not right. He is once again playing the ultimate victim. These dates were set up in September of last year well before the first primary vote was cast and well before anyone knew who the nominees would be for either side. It was set up by a non-partisan committee and designed to favor no one. It doesn't matter if it is scheduled on the same night as a football game. DVR on of them. It's not "rigged against him". IF anything, people not watching would benefit Trump, since his debate skills consists of "Wall", "Chy-na" and a bunch of incoherent yelling, screaming and name calling.

      • I know they were set up ahead of time, but we know now for sure what we suspected all along, that the primaries were set up to make Hillary the winner before they even started. The Democrats on the committee would have acted accordingly. And as for the committee being non-partisan, that just means both parties selected members, not that anybody with a conservative viewpoint or a brain of any kind ended up on the committee. How many "non-partisan" groups have we seen make blatantly liberal decisions over the years (the Supreme Court being the best example)?

Whatever the reason for doing so, putting the debates up against NFL football games is the best way possible of making sure nobody watches them. Whether they did it to protect Hillary or not, it was stupid. Nobody is going to DVR them and watch them later when they have ten thousand news analysts telling them what happened.

        • hmm, now I believe what you are describing is "bi-partisan" not "non-partisan". And I see you don't dispute that more people viewing football than the debate also helps Trump....SO again Trump is wrong. The debates are not rigged against him as he benefits from this situation as much if not more so than Hillary.

And as far as the set up goes with competing with the NFL, so what? Most people don't watch debates, and instead, opt for the highlights and the media spin anyway.

          • Trumps largest potential voting block will be white males. Many will be watching football instead of the debate. They will miss Trump trouncing Hitlary and wind up getting the MSM version of how Hitlary won. I think this hurts Trump.

          • And that does nothing to refute the point that most of them would likely not be watching the debate, football or not.

          • Maybe so, but a lot would watch the debate if not for the game. NFL football is one of the few attractions that would trump Trump, pun intended, for white males.
It wouldn't be only white males. They want as few seeing Hitlary get trounced as possible. Same strategy during the Democratic debates.

          • LOL no, it will be very hard for Trump to "trounce" Hillary on the debate stage when at best he will yell and scream sentence fragments and call people names. At least Hillary can complete a coherent sentence consisting of more than 3 to 4 words.

Don't be fooled...All of this theater from Trump is because he is looking for a reason to bale on the debates. (just like he did during the primary) He is even going so far as to say the NFL wrote a letter complaining about schedule conflict. Uhm, no, Trump lied again, the NFL did no such letter writing.

          • Trump will Trounce Hitlary with a capital T. No doubt. All this commotion over the schedule is just another of Trumps free publicity stunts.

          • The only way you could possibly think that is if you have not watched a single one of the previous debates in the primary. Shouting someone down is not winning the debate regardless of what Drudge may say. He has ZERO substance and the debating skills of a 4th grader at best. But good luck with the fantasy you've created there.

          • That isn't debating, that is bullying. and it won't win in the long run. So good luck with your pipe dream.

          • No, what got him this far is the 12 million democrats who voted in the GOP primary and selcted the GOP candidate for us. They won't be voting for him in the general.

          • Those were disappointed voters fed up with the establishment that see the same hope in Trump that they thought they saw in Obama. They will be voting for Trump again.

        • 1) Was I talking to you? No. But I understand, you are compelled to intervene if someone fails to sing the praises of your false god.

          2) No, back in September there was still a chance that someone else could be the democratic nominee. Yes, the DNC has a system that includes "Superdelegates" but the candidate still has to win them over and earn their support.

          3) Neither the DNC nor the RNC sets the debate schedule, it is a non partisan committee and it is designed to not favor either candidate. That nonpartisan committee did not know who the nominees would be a year in advance, and well before the first primary votes had even taken place on either side.

Now then, unless you can debate the issue with facts and honesty, don't waste my time any further

          • You are so myopic

            1) Sorry tough guy, don't read my posts if they offend. Which had nothing do do with Trump btw. But I admire your knee jerk reaction to try to dismiss me with often repeated falsehoods. You guys are so dull.

            2) That's naive at this point. Or just stupid.

            3) Rinse and repeat? Saying it again changes nothing. The same game plan was used against Bernie. She hasn't done an interview (before yesterday) in months. She and the powers that be know she is bad in these situations, She is unlikeable and shrill. Even up against the worst performer and in front of friendly audiences she looks bad.

Why should I be the only one using facts and honesty.

          • Not to mention that once again. you have proven that you don't pay attention. drb isn't a guy, but she is way smarter than you.

            edit:
Why should I be the only one using facts and honesty.

            BWAHAHAHA!!!
You say you're using facts and honesty, all the while standing there telling us how great Trump is? Time to wake up and pay attention to reality.

          • I know it's not a bromance you have with tuffy, sheesh. Just like I know you're a dude, even though you stalkishy down vote every post I make like a girlyman, and use smilies.

If I ever said what you claim it would be an opinion - not a fact. The fact is Trump won. The fact is he had done an impressive job to get here, and has used some good sense.

Another fact is you, in this thread, posted Hillary would plan a mass shooting to take attention away from her------

            Kiss up!

          • Thanks for proving me correct. You have wasted enough of my time. Have a nice day. You are dismissed.

    • See, that is what happens when you look at these thing rationally. You can admit when the guy is right just as you can point out when he's wrong. Now if it just so happens he is more wrong than right, well that isn't your fault.

      • "See, that is what happens when you look at these thing rationally. You can admit when the guy is right just as you can point out when he’s wrong."

Exactly. We don't suspend our sense of reality or lose our ability to think just because the Republican nominee is a whacko.

By the way, did you notice the weekend articles about the Kochs? Apparently they're sitting out the presidential election, too, because they also feel neither choice is worth supporting. And Trump is already firing bitter-baby attacks at them. It's sort of funny. I'm guessing the Kochs could buy and sell Trump ten times over with merely their spare pocket change, but Trump is having a cow that a member of the billionaire club is not supporting him for president. Instead of calling them on the phone and saying, "What do I need to do to convince you I can help this country?" he mouths off and says he wouldn't take their support if they offered it.

Meanwhile, Walker over in Wisconsin is willing to help Trump and has one of the best political organizations anywhere, and Wisconsin is a swing state, but so far Trump has done nothing but reiterate his comments about Walker being boring. What. A. Putz.

  • What difference does it make? If people were going to watch them, Killary would plan a mass shooting to take the attention away from her.

    • I guess they think that if very few people actually see the debate there won't be much of an objection when the MSM spins it to make it look like Hillary "Hot Sauce" Clinton did better than she actually did.
