Trump wants a second Iowa caucus

Trump wants a second Iowa caucus because Cruz “stole it”. Sounds about right: the guy spent his whole life failing miserably and demanding that others bail him out, so why should the Iowa caucuses be different?

  • Proofs that Cruz is a treacherous, lying snake.

Pretends to be conservatives but take CNN´s word for it and not even bothering to send a quick phone call to the Carson team?!? Yeah, right, shittiest excuse ever!

No accident at all, Trump was too kind to call Cruz nasty.

This is where Rubio's surge came from, the vote was rigged, simple as that.

Yes, the Iowa caucus was compromised, period.

  • A few thoughts: It is now likely that the "Voting certificates" Cruz sent out constitute a misdemeanor - each one of them. Also the Carson things was clearly not a "mistake" Steve King knew exactly what he was doing when he tweeted that Carson had "dropped out."

Latest from New Hampshire has Trump 36 Rubio 15 Bush 14 Cruz in 4th
Those who "can't wait for the clown to go away" should get a comfortable chair and a good book to read because that's not happening anytime soon.

    • Steve King knew exactly what he was doing? WTF does that mean and what does it have to do with Ted Cruz and Rubio running with what CNN reported? If you have some pertinent evidence, out with it. Do you realize that CNN didn't "clarify" its report until after the caucuses started? So what are Cruz and Rubio supposed to do at that point, ask Carson for a list of phone numbers so they can start calling his supporters -- WHO ARE NO LONGER AT HOME BECAUSE THEY
RE AT THE CAUCUSES -- and telling them CNN clarified? Good grief. I don't like dirty tricks either but going after another guy's supporters is pretty much what a political campaign is all about.

  • OK. Anybody need a little comic relief? Entirely unrelated. I just had a YUUGE laugh. Been listening to Pandora radio, and an old-time country-western song comes on by someone named Wilf Carter (aka Montana Slim). Quirky little number with a lot of yodeling called The Alpine Milkman. Gets to the last couple of verses and it REALLY gets my attention -- and I'm laughing so hard my eyes start running. It's a dirty novelty song, of the same type as "The Dingaling Song"!!! The verses work up to it, one of them is sort of "Wait, what?" and the LAST leaves no doubt! For your delight, then: https://youtu.be/oM6aMb-PCw0

    Enjoy!

  • From what Carson actually said, and how it was reported -- and even I'll grant that CNN announced it pretty straightforward and with some speculation as to what it meant -- yeah, it sounded like he was packin' it in. Right or wrong, that was a fair, even obvious, assumption.

    However.

To go around before the voting, trying to influence voters with what was still JUST AN ASSUMPTION, no matter how obvious, seems pretty shitty.

  • Trump isn't use to having to come back from a loss. His temper tamper isn't swaying those who might be looking at him. Best thing to do and have done is to congrulate Cruz and go harder in NH and SC.

    • He has a huge lead in New Hampshire. If he doesn't stop whining and pissing and moaning, he'll lose that lead because that isn't what built him that lead.

      • JP, I had no idea where to post this, but I knew you would appreciate it.

A crusty old golfer comes in from a round of golf at a new course and heads into the 19th Hole Grill Room. As he passes through the swinging doors he sees a sign hanging over the bar...

        COLD BEER: $2.00
        HAMBURGER: $2.25
        CHEESEBURGER: $2.50
        CHICKEN SANDWICH : $3.50
        HAND JOB: $50.00

Checking his wallet to be sure he has the necessary payment, the old golfer walks up to the bar and beckons to the exceptionally attractive female bartender who is serving drinks to a couple of sun-wrinkled golfers. She glides down behind the bar to the old golfer.

"Yes?" she inquires with a wide, knowing smile, "May I help you?"

The old golfer leans over the bar, "I was wondering, young lady," he whispers... "Are you the one who gives the hand-jobs?

She looks into his eyes with that wide smile and purrs... "Yes, sir, I sure am ."

The old golfer leans closer and into her left ear whispers softly... "Well, wash your hands really, really good... because I want a cheeseburger."

        • Oh I love that joke. There's a Super Bowl party I go to every year, mixed company, and I'm going to tell that joke for sure.

  • It's arguable whether Cruz's shenanigans had the effect which Trump credits them, but Trump spoke truth about the phony Carson quitting announcement and the legal but underhanded mailer.

    • No he didn't speak the truth about the Carson thing. CNN started that, not Cruz. The Cruz campaign simply told supporters to use it and try to recruit Carson supporters. Nothing wrong with that at all. Then Carson clarified that although he wasn't going to New Hampshire, that didn't mean he was abandoning his run for president and CNN corrected their first report. At that point, it was HIS job, not Cruz's job, to communicate with his Iowa supporters and explain how not going to NH didn't mean he was quitting.

Two things: one, if you announce that you aren't participating in the next two state primaries, what do you expect people to think? CNN very naturally assumed it meant he was quitting, like a few other people did yesterday. And three, I take serious issue with Carson's words: "As a Christian I accept Ted Cruz's apology BUT..." But? But what? Cruz said he was sorry about the misunderstanding, so what's the but for? Don't get all self-righteous and say "As a Christian" if you're really not accepting the apology. Carson lost all my respect with this mealy mouthed business, and I'm seriously pissed at him. CNN said he was quitting, Cruz ran with it, end of story. Here's what I think, and I'd be willing to bet on it: I bet the CNN story is 100% correct and we soon hear that Carson is dropping out. After this display of poor sportsmanship, he should.

        Nope.

The revelation about Cruz’s campaign calls and voicemails comes after an email surfaced from Cruz’s deputy Iowa campaign director Spence Rogers, sent at 6:56 p.m.–four minutes before caucuses began–suggesting that Carson would be “taking time off from the campaign trail after Iowa and making a big announcement next week.” The email told supporters: “Please inform any caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted Cruz.”

However, the Carson campaign had already clarified at 6:53 p.m. that he was not dropping out.

The original report by Chris Moody of CNN at 6:44 p.m. had reported explicitly that Carson was not suspending his campaign.

        > Pretends to be conservatives
        > Calls Trump a democrat.
        > (Pretend) to takes CNN´s word for it.
        > Doesn´t even bother to check w/ Ben Carso and his team.

Face it, Cruz is a slimy crap-weasel.

        • But the Trumpster is whining about how Ted should have his votes taken away. Someone on the news this morning was saying how whining about losing doesn't make people want to vote for you.
I'm waiting for Trumps following to start dwindling.

      • Well said. Carson is on the way out, but he isn't doing it well. CNN likely outed his intentions before he was ready to make the announcement. I believe the original intent was to drop out either yesterday or today. Now he'll drag on through New Hamphire, and then suspend the campaign.

Nice guy - not ready for all this.

  • The only I learned from the Iowa caucus is that it's ridiculous and wrong much more often than it's right. That being said, it is what it is, so Sanders & Trump need to just dismiss it and move on.
