Trump’s ‘amazing’ letter from Nixon will hang in Oval Office: Nixon, as you may remember, is the man that let the 1960 presidential election be stolen from him rather than put the nation through what it would take to expose the Kennedy’s. Nixon is also the man, whom some years later, was forced to resign from the White House for having talked about doing what Obama has done for the last eight years.

  • Nixon is also the man who abandoned our ally, an actual democracy, the Republic of China, so he could bask in the limelight as the person who started rapprochement with the despotic People's Republic of China. Amazingly, Trump just pissed off the latter by accepting a phone call from the former. We live in the Bizarro World. The fact that Trump admires Nixon enough to put his letter on the wall in the Oval Office while apparently spitting on the main accomplishment of the Nixon presidency, gives you some idea of how ignorant our president-elect is.

    • I guess I can't be totally behind throwing Taiwan under the bus. But on the other hand that ship had sailed with the Truman state-department. What Nixon did, pragmatist that he was, deeply wounded the Soviet Union though. Sometimes cross purposes end up with history going like; not unlike what happened with Chang Kai-shek needing to wage a total war against the Japanese, Nixon ending the gold-exchage rate, and the US aiding the Mujahedin so as to push the Soviet Empire over the edge.
