And probably not get in the way so much. Our local Wally has gotten in the habit of having the shelf stockers fill the aisles with pallets at PEAK shopping time, around 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Of course, STILL only two of the seventeen registers open. Why did they buy all those extra registers, anyway? Or are they DUMMY registers, to keep our hopes up that they might open one someday?

Have any of you people been in a Walmart in the past 2 years? They have 2 or 3 checkers at the 20 items or less grocery checkout. Everyone else has to go through a "self checkout" thing, all automated. One person watching 8 checkout lanes where people scan their stuff, bag it themselves then pay themselves with cash or a card of some kind. I have even seen this kind of stuff at a Lowes, at a Smiths grocery store, at a lot of big businesses, this is nothing new folks!

I wouldn't mind them so much if they didn't pause the damn machine every time I buy non-alcoholic beer to check my ID. I end up standing there waiting for some pimple-faced idiot who's wandering around with a vacant look on his face to notice I'm paused, come over and check my ID, and then start my checkout computer again. I''VE GOT GREY HAIR AND I'M BUYING NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER YOU MORONS!

Guess the Teamsters will be celebrating this as a victory. They've tried to organize Walmart workers several times and failed. Guess they can claim that they told them so.
It's too bad we can't automate the Federal budget to stop borrowing money to pay operating expenses.
