Dem lawmaker proposes an amendment allowing lawful carry of firearms for all citizens into the Missouri capitol. This was meant as a ploy, and she planned to withdraw the proposal in her closing statement. But, as politicos tend to be long winded, she kept jabbering too long and ran out of time before she could cancel it. The chair brought the amendment to a vote and it passed!
There needs to be an IQ test with background checks. Today while eating lunch at our fishing camp on Lake Bistineau, I heard a loud thump on the back of the house, I found a bullet hole about 3 feet from a window, while looking at it another bullet went whizzing overhead, I called the Webster Parish PD to report it, while talking to the cop ( who was kinda blowing it off by saying people in the area like to shoot guns sometimes ) a bullet hit a tree not 30 feet away. That's when he decided to check it out. Come to find out the person had just got his conceal permit and was celebrating. If a gun control person was to show right now I would sign everything he has, and i'm pro 2nd amendment. I'm pissed
Da?n
There's always morons around. Shoulda kicked his ass.
Activist judges are an important centerpiece n the deliberate destruction of the republic. When pawns like the Sandy Hook families realize that their favored status is a matter of political convenience it will be too late to do anything about it.
The very first sentence is a blatant lie, exactly what we've come to expect from Donald Trump. "On Saturday, April 9, Colorado had an “election” without voters." BULLSHIT! There was voting at three different levels over the course of weeks. If he doesn't like the system, a system similar to what a number of other states use, and if he thinks he has the intellectual chops to make a case against it, then he's welcome to try. But opening an Op-Ed with the first sentence a flagrant lie? That's schoolboy crap.
Donald Trump has the mind and attitude of a spoiled brat third grader.
I took the first line as sarcasm. I think he believes every state should have a primary, where it's the popular vote that determines who wins a state, though I agree he should've known the rules with Colorado last year when they changed. He's just bringing to light what he sees as wrong.
What makes him think he gets to dictate how states do their primary/caucus/straw poll/etc?
The states have fought hard to have self determination as to their election process, and that idea smacks of federal overreach.
If that's what he thinks, it's funny he didn't mention it when he won in Nevada, two states away, which is also a caucus rather than a primary. So because he won a caucus state, does that make Trump a "cheater" and a "liar" and a guy who uses "Gestapo tactics"?
You can make the argument for either method, just like you can make the argument either way for open or closed. Personally, I think open primaries and caucuses are a huge mistake, the main reason we end up with people like McCain, Romney, and Trump--all those Democrats crossing over to vote for the Republican nominee. Why do we want liberals selecting the conservative party's nominee?
I agree with you on the Nevada example. I personally think it should be this: All states have some form of a primary, with a rule stating you have to vote for a candidate in the party you're registered in. Instead of delegates, they use electoral votes. Then, in November, you can vote for whichever candidate you want, again using electoral votes. Simplest way in my opinion.
I could go for that as long as you have a cut-off for registering Republican or Democrat that is far enough in advance of the primary that people from the opposite party can't register at the last moment and screw things up. If you remember, Rush Limbaugh ran a campaign to make things difficult for Obama in 2008, where he asked his viewers to register Democrat and vote for Hillary, just to mess things up for the Democrats.
The way it works in Michigan, you walk into vote and they ask you, "Do you want a Democrat ballot or a Republican ballot?" I think that's BS. Everybody's known Hillary had her side locked up for over a year, so of course lots of people this year asked for a Republican ballot, no matter how liberal they were.
I wasn't aware of the campaign by Limbaugh, though I didn't start frequenting his site daily until around a year ago. Yea I agree the way Michigan does it is horseshit. I would suggest having to register no later than 6 months before your state's primary.
I'd go for that. And since I think I'm registered as an independent, I'd never get to vote in a primary. That's fine with me. This is private party business, who and how they pick their nominee. I don't need to be involved.
You say that like it is a bad thing. Just look what has happened since the Austin and Dallas libs got the sodomy laws repealed
That's a pretty stupid site. If that's where you get your information, no wonder you're a Trump supporter. Number one, the headline is fiction, and number two, this line: "Cruz launched an all-out war against dildos, artificial vaginas, and vibrators..." Jeez. Gimmee a break. He's the Solicitor General. If the AG tells him to defend a state law, that's what he has to do. If he was "launching an all-out war," would he assign the trial to underlings? The shallowness and ad hominem nature of the Trump campaign's attacks remind me of how Democrats campaign for office. When you have no ideas, you have to distract everybody with insults and special effects. You should listen to Cruz talk to an audience sometime. He's a man with ideas so he doesn't have to distract and make appeals to people's baser natures. He doesn't stand there repeating over and over, "I'm a really smart guy." You listen to him for ten minutes and you KNOW he's a smart guy.
Not to mention:

What a useless waste of bandwidth.
Exactly! When you listen to Cruz you hear, "we" need to adhere to the Constitution, "we" need to enforce the law. He knows that he can't do it himself, but will work with Congress to get things done.
When you listen to Trump, he sounds just like Obama, I'm gonna make America great again, I'm gonna build a wall. "I" doesn't work with our Constitution, it was written for "we" the people and their representatives.
It seems like this country, and the world for that matter, is ripe for a dictatorship.
You need to research this a bit better. His boss assigned him to the case. He delegated it to an underling. This is all to try and paint him as some prude. Which is it? Is he a prude or a philanderer? A nerd or a player. People need to make up their minds.
I'm all for a ban on dildos! If women couldn't get dildos at the local sex shop maybe us older guys would have a chance at getting a little. (snicker)
I gotta buy a parrot and start training it! My old grandmother made me promise years ago to keep peace in the family, she didn't say anything about after I kick the bucket.
