Here's what I mean: there are 674 delegates left to be allocated. Cruz has anywhere between 544-559, depending on which website you go to. That means he needs between 678-693 to win the nomination. Kasich has between 147-149. He needs 1088-1090 to win the nomination.
Obviously Kasich and now Cruz are both mathematically eliminated from securing the nomination without the contested convention. With that being said, why do they continue? I ask this question here because I realize most of the members support Cruz and hate Trump. I have a feeling if Trump and Cruz were switched (Cruz with the lead and Trump mathematically eliminated), everyone here would be calling for him to suspend his campaign.

Yeah, and then there's the formally uncommitted. I was surprised to learn how Kentucky does it. Their delegates are not allowed to commit to a particular candidate. They're appointed by the party and will make their mind up at the convention. So how are those delegates being counted? Maybe they will all vote for Rand Paul in the first round to show loyalty to the Kentuckian and then who knows?
KY delegates will be bound for the first vote... but Rubio's 7 said they would vote Cruz on the second...that is all I know about KY.
I went back and checked 3 uncommitted in CO, all said they would go with Cruz. and then in additon to those I noted above, MN has released Rubio's 17, and OK had released Rubio's 12 and all of them have also stated they would vote Cruz on the first ballot. So right now Cruz' real delegate count is 612, not the 559...SO as I said technically speaking Cruz is not mathematically eliminated just yet...I guess our friend is hoping we are not aware of the real numbers, but alas, some of us pay attention to the little details.
