  • Then we have things like happened in my little town yesterday. A guy I know, know his ex wife too, decided to shoot her then when the state police caught up with him he did the "suicide by cop" thing. Fired at them, they fired back, case closed. His wife is going to be ok though, that is the important thing.

    I am a veteran, I saw some bad shit years ago. I am a gun owner who will defend our 2nd amendment rights to the day I die. And I never had the urge to kill an ex-wife and I have 5 of them! What is with people who go off the deep end for some reason and decide to do things like this? That is what we need to be looking at, not gun control laws but figuring out why some people lose it and decide to try to kill others and commit suicide. Whether the state cops shot him or he shot himself, the outcome was the same. The guy is dead. And it's a damn shame that our society cannot figure out why these kinds of things happen. The idiots running things are to worried about gun control instead of looking at the real problem.

  • I'll add that 2A being in place, guarantees all those other rights will not ultimately be infringed upon.

    • You can bet the farm that is true. The day we lose the right to own firearms is the day we will cease to be citizens, we will become subjects. And that is an America I will not live in. That is not the America my grandson and granddaughter are fighting for today. We are a proud people, my family, and we have been fighting in every war, conflict, military action, whatever the government called it since the revolution when we gained our independence and became the great country called America. And now I have grandchildren carrying on the tradition. Right or wrong, and our government is often wrong, we do not cuss or blame our men and women in uniform. We honor them for doing the job they were asked to do.

  • Those on the left, please note. The 2nd amendment does not grant any rights. The 2nd amendment says the right of the people (which pre-exists) shall not be infringed. It prohibits the government from interfering with your inalienable right to keep and bear arms for self defense.

    • They don't teach reading comprehension in California schools, or the US constitution & the Bill of Rights.
