Under orders or not, if I'm a DC cop, my camera would be ON. Those cameras are going to prove to be career savers in the long run, not footage for the prosecution.
I have said in the past and I will continue to say it. I do not fear being recorded while on duty. I've got nothing to hide. Film away. It has come back more than once to bit the person doing the filming.
Turning off the body cameras by the DC police is nothing but PC bull shit. Ask the brothers and sisters if they want them on, you will get a resounding response of "Yes" The police administration is caving to all the special snow flakes and fakes. What they fear is showing how out of touch these groups are.

Anyone else remember when these same people were demanding that police wear bodycams so they could prove how racist and abusive the police were?
I do, but that's because it was just last week(which is the Dawn of Time by Progressive measurement).
