My old mother is a pistol packing mama and I can imagine the screams coming from this pervert if he walked into a ladies room she was in.
This is the ENTIRE point. And it pisses me off that Republicans/Conservatives and everyone else that cares does not seem to know how to articulate this issue. This was NEVER about TRUE transgendered people, this was about THOSE that will ultimately abuse the permission granted by the law to satisfy their evil and freaky desires. REAL transgendered people were ALREADY using the bathroom they wanted. There was no reason to stop them IF they TRULY went through the process. Even is someone in the bathroom may suspect, if there is very very little to recommend that the person is the opposite gender of the bathroom, the true transgendered will go in there, use it and come out without controversy. It is those that DO NOT go through the process, the criminals, the perverts, the pedophiles and most of them will not even BOTHER to wear women's clothing in order to gain access as they won't have to because of these unnecessary and unequal laws.
Trying to satisfy the very few in the population in order to feel good themselves is a very stupid and narrow minded view by the politicians and President Obama... I seriously suspect that he is gay and that he will come out if he ever succeeds in normalizing alternative lifestyles.
If he keeps it up, this...person...will wind up self-identifying as a corpse.
Women need to avoid using restrooms and whenever possible be packing or at the very least have small weapons available. The only way this is going to end is for freaks to get dead (legally) as he is trying to do some damage using these (in) equality laws.
The other option is to have your husband, boyfriend, brother, or other male friend or relative standing outside, waiting for you to call for help. I know if someone I was with screamed about some pervert, there would be need of an ambulance at the very least.
If men decide to be watchmen at the gate so to speak, I can guarantee that freaks will think twice about it. That would even include all areas where women and girls congregate like shelters where we know there have been problems in the past with this type of situation. Any sports event, any entertainment show, etc. men should follow women and girls to the restroom door and stop there and look out. Women and girls shouldn't be going into the bathroom alone either. I know that in big crowd areas I never did. Any man that looks like a man regardless of wearing a wig or women clothing should be "convinced" to use a unisex bathroom (which is what the solution should have been to begin with) or to go to the man's bathroom or to go home.
I agree, but as far as the shelters are concerned, they refuse to let men know where they are, to "protect" the residents. Too bad that men who would volunteer to protect them can't find them, but the men who they are being protected from manage to find them.
It doesn't make sense to bar all men. With crazy good background and drug checks, and appropriate safety guidelines men should be available to guard women's shelters. Even if it means they are in the background and the women can't see them if they are in areas of entrances and exits and/or readily available in the event of an emergency that will make for a safe environment. If not then why not give incentives for police officers to spend extra moments in and near shelters? (show their presence).
I've even offered to bring a rocking horse by to help cheer up the kids at the shelter, and was turned down. They REALLY don't want anyone knowing where they are, or bringing any attention to them.
It would be great if the secrecy worked, but an abuser has no problem stalking a woman, and finding them at the shelter. The only ones that can't find them are the ones who would protect them, because they follow the rules.
Sad but true.
Or he could get the Lopitoffame Surgery right there in the dressing room...
