I keep wondering why Republicans don't give up on McCarthy and put forward someone everybody can agree on, and I think the problem might be that nobody really wants the job except people who don't understand the job. McCarthy is the exception, the sort of Deep State denizen who loves power and the wielding of power and feeling important, so he wants the job. The kind of twisted personality who looks in the mirror and tells himself how god-like he is. Jim Jordan when he was nominated was like "Hell no!" Trump had fun with his nomination, mocking Nancy Pelosi wonderfully, but he doesn't want to spend all his time fundraising and settling committee squabbles among overgrown children. Who does that leave?
Jordan would be my choice. The guy who doesn't want the job is the guy we need. But alas, he wants to showboat with committees investigating all the BS that's been going on.
McLuntz is NOT going to get the speakership or the gavel to call the house into order. Time for him to call the movers and pack his shit out of the office he attempted to seize. To go through 5 votes and be rejected, is all he and all his power whores need to know. The only one to blame for this debacle is himself. McLuntz was given some request that if he would have honored, he would have gotten to have his prize. His arrogant ass would not allow for any type of compromise and now he is just an embarrassing fool.
Trump is available. I wonder why nobody has suggested that option yet. Maybe he made it clear he's not interested. There's other people they could consider too. I would pay money to see Sarah Palin in the Speaker's seat. I'd pay money and supply the popcorn.
Gaetz just nominated Trump - nothing happend.
