I was one of the biggest "Rah-rah, go USA" types around during the Olympics when I was younger but one reason I quit watching them is how politicized they've become. That and supposedly being for "amateur athletes" that is.

Here's the list of those who I'm aware of that will not go to the WH. Gus Kenworthy, Lindsey Vonn, and figure skaters Nathan Chen and Adam Rippon. Please join me in praying that they fall on their collective asses during their events.
Rippon is a prime example of why so many are turning against gays today. The guy is obviously good at what he does, he is in the Olympics, and he should be proud of that and that alone. Nobody gives a crap if he is gay, but pushing the point on a national stage like the Olympics does nothing but push people away.
He should be proud of his accomplishments, he should be proud he was selected to represent America at the games. And he should be proud to stand up in front of the President and say thank you for the invitation. If he can't do that he will never be a good representative of gay folks, he will always be known as a chicken shit little crybaby who didn't have the guts to face our President and accept the praise he earned.
If any company DOES decide to have him endorse their products, they too can fail.
Two questions: 'Who?' and 'Who cares?'.
