• Time to find another pharmacy and let the bottom line speak out to the dip shit lawyers and cowards. If you stand up to the thugs, sooner or later the thugs get the message. If you don't, they will continue to be thugs and do thuggish things up to and including killing someone.

• If I owned a business in the local area, I'd be on the phone to offer him a job.

• Meh, their interest is in the safety of the customer and employees. What if these guys decided to shoot a couple customers just to spite the manager for intervening? That doesn't play out well for CVS in court. First question the opposing lawyer asks? What is the CVS policy regarding robberies. Game over/ plaintiff gets 150 mil.

  • Not quite. The manager went against company policy, so the company isn't responsible.

  In VA, you do not need a script for syringes. I use syringes for a script. My cat also gets syringes for a script. I go to CVS, having been an Rx customer for years (even in NJ, which ought to show up on their system, you think)... customer retention is obviously not a concern of theirs, which is how my Grandmother described communism in Hungary -- employees no longer give a crap, nor does the "employer" which is the state, or in our case, the global corporation.

  They refused my request for syringes. Not only did they refuse, but they made such a big to-do over it for 20 minutes, that it was absolutely embarrassing to me. They have a company policy - outside of the state law - which allows them to refuse syringe requests.

  This was for my cat, a diabetic, and i accidentally forgot to renew her syringe script, so of course, i wound up having to go (this was a Sunday) to the emergency vet in town in order to get a couple syringes.

  I hate CVS, and this was only one story... I have lots more.

• CVS has some serious problems. Had a couple friends who used to work there, they keep everyone's hours below the minimum for Obamacare, their healthcare is shitty, and in one case the lady was making less than her healthcare cost every month..Plus when they bought out Payless, the fired everyone, started over and cut the number of products they sell EXCEPT for alcohol.....I refuse to use them for anything.

  • I never shopped there much to begin with, but I completely quit going when they decided to quit selling cigarettes. I quit smoking years ago, but it just ticked me off that they felt the need to manipulate the culture.

  • My future daughter in law works as a pharmacy tech for them.
    She gets hours to qualify as full time, but they have their work week worked out so that she works every weekend, but doesn't get any overtime, even though she works 10-12 days straight.

• This isn't the first time CVS has done this. They would rather lose everything in the drug cabinet and safe, than stop a crook.

• Yeah, retailers really don't want their employees physically getting involved with shoplifters these days. A "cover your ass" policy, it's about lawsuits, from either the shoplifter or an employee getting involved.

  • Yep. I worked in retail management years ago in the 80s and the policies are much more stringent now. I applied for a part time job at a convenience store near us for some $$ on the side and part of the interview focused on your reaction to a robbery attempt. I tried to play it smart but got a big *BZZZT, wrong answer* when I mentioned trying to check their plate # as they drove away.

    I guess my fight instinct still overrides my flight instinct.
