My response is, then why did gas prices spike the minute he shut down the pipeline?

If his handlers actually allowed him to take questions, reporters might want to ask, "What evidence could there possibly be that gas prices should be going down? Aren't actual gas prices the best evidence possible for what gas prices should be?"
