Pretty sure he can pick up Al Jezera cheap.
The trick will be getting cable networks to carry it.
Or perhaps buying a minor channel with access to cable systems nationally, or maybe buying into a partnering with Beck, or buying him out outright. Taking over something already up & running would make more sense then starting from the ground up.
That's going to present the same issue. I can't get my cable system to carry Beck's channel, but they had no issues with Al-Jazeera America.
IMHO cable is on its last leg and that last leg is live sports. Once that goes on demand the whole gig is up. And I am very happy about that.
If cable goes under, where do we get it programming from? Cable supplies our primary source of internet and streaming Netflix, etc.
