California man facing DUI charges for having caffeine in his system

    Soda, tea, coffee, all have caffeine. How do they expect us to avoid it?

    • The Solano County D.A. Dropped the charge..Duh....He cut off a guy, on the freeway, who works for Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC)..they are the beer cops in the peoples republic of kalifornia. Another cop who thought he knew something. The beer cop needs to stick to checking stop and robs for underage buyers, and stay off the freeway.

      • I never heard of ABC being able to issue tickets, or even pull over drivers! In NJ, their entire job is monitoring bars and liquor stores for underage buyers. If one of them had pulled me over when I lived in NJ, I would have laughed my ass off!

      • So basically he used his badge to express his road rage at a fellow driver. A regular cop would lose his badge for that.

        • Yup. If the Beer Cop had any brains, she could have called CHP and had them stop the guy. But I guess she felt like "playing" Highway Patrol that day. You see a lot of self appointed highway patrol officers on the freeway. The will slow down to force traffic to slow, go 55 in the fast lane, and drive beside a semi and not let you pass...Now it appears the beer cop had one of those self appointed highway patrol moments. I hated traffic stops on the freeway, It is a dangerous place and I prefer to get off the freeway if I had to stop someone. Usually they were doing something really stupid like going 100 miles an hour on the freeway or they were DUI, in which case I had CHP come get them..

• Why would I think Kalifornia couldn't get any dumber? It's the leader in dumb.

• Oh great, next up will be a tax on caffeine in the People's Republic of California. I know, I know, don't give these clowns any ideas.

• I can't remember the last time I drove without caffeine in my system. Of course, if I HAD driven without it, I wouldn't expect to remember it.

• Don't let Nanny Bloomberg hear about this, or we'll have another health crusade on our hands.
