How many years have we heard about water shortages in California? But when you see pictures of the homes the rich and famous their lawns are green and the swimming pools are full.
I think we could see this coming when Kalifornicate started promoting electric cars. The state already had problems with rolling brownouts before the Volt, Leaf and all the other shoe boxes came out but the state decided that adding more demand to the power grid was a good idea? Where do those idiots think the electricity comes from to charge their little batteries comes from anyway? Coal and gas fired power plants with a little nuclear power thrown in and about 2% from that "renewable" stupidity called wind and solar. They are to stupid to understand that by demanding more electricity, forcing coal and gas fired power plants to pollute the air even more so they can feel good about themselves because they are saving the environment makes no sense.
Grey Davis was bounced out of office due to power outages so the present gang of crooks made sure they had enough power by pushing expensive solar and wind power. They also "conserve" power by making the cost extremely expensive vs other parts of the country. The people now sweltering in their homes are the ones who can't afford to pay $900/mo on air conditioning during the summer, which sometimes runs into October.
California is the Venezuela of North America. Five years from now they'll be waiting in food lines at grocery stores with bare shelves.
To make things worse many truck companies will not go to California unless they are paid more. The fuel taxes, permitting costs, rules and regulations, the cops and DOT, the 55 MPH speed limits, all add up to much more cost to do business there. Which, of course, means higher prices to the consumer for products trucked in and higher costs for goods to be trucked back out which means higher consumer costs at the other end. Why do large grocery chains love Mexican produce so much? Here is a clue.
