  • I deal with this stuff in Judaism too. Unless it's an Orthodox synagogue you get crap like, "Jewish bike rides for the environment." What the hell is that?!

    • It seems to me that unless it's a Hasidic Synagogue, they have mostly gone leftist.
      I grew up in a town where many Jews lived, and they ranged from Hasidic to liberal. Their voting bloc mostly went Democrat. For the life of me, I can't comprehend that line of thinking, since Democrats largely despise Israel.

      • I might have something on that. There's a principle in Judaism, can't remember the word for it - there is one - that is similar to the Golden Rule. Basically it says live your life in such a way that others think well of you. In principle, it goes a little beyond just "do unto others ...". I think that unfortunately, getting people to "think well of you" nowadays means being a liberal. Generally, I could agree with this idea (living your life in such a way, not being a lib), but it does leave the door open to have others determine what you do, instead of your own principles and viewpoint as to what is right and wrong.

  • OK, so if this makes me a bad person, so be it, but I hope this Pope has the shortest tenure of any Pope in history. I am tired of his Communist beliefs, which BTW, are in direct conflict with Catholic Doctrine.
