"United was notified on July 11, 2017, that the income tax rate for Illinois residents would increase from 3.75 percent to 4.95 percent, retroactive to July 1, 2017."

Just a side note, When I was in Stockton they had the same boxes. On the south side they had all been changed to read "Clothes and Hoes"..some creative person scrapped off the "S". Probably closer to the truth anyway.

What else would you expect from Crook County?
As usual with Progressives and math, something doesn't add up. The tax would have to be $1.000 an ounce to pay for 1100 county employees, and it's not that high ...yet.
Philadelphia enacted a 1.5 cent per ounce soda tax and (shock) it's not raising the revenue that the spend-a-holics anticipated.
"The city will lower its projections for beverage tax revenue this fiscal year, saying the tax will bring in less than had been anticipated.
The 1.5-cent-per-ounce tax on sweetened beverages, in effect since January, has brought in $25.6 million, but will fall short of a projected $46.2 million for fiscal year 2017, which ends June 30."
