One of the bouncers is an ex marine and he saved 70 people's lives had he had a gun who knows how many more he could have saved.
Probably not. Alcohol and firearms are always a bad combo. What if Hajimabib opened up and killed one guy before CCL guy drops him and accidentally kills two other people in the process? We then have the gun nuts second guessing CCL guy and it becomes an anti CCL issue. Now if Haj killed 40+ people before getting dropped… it plays better, but i guarantee CCL guy gets sued by someone.
The bouncers could have been carrying, they are working and have to stay sober. Besides, even if your scenario happened it would still mean 47 innocent people would still be alive and another 50 would not be in the hospital.
Man, having bouncers carrying is one of the last things I'd ever want to see. Most of the bouncers I've met still have velcro straps on their shoes because Mommy isn't there anymore to tie those confusing laces, if ya know what I mean. Having a bouncer conceal carry would require additional stringent training to ensure that he's an asset and not a liability. Most bouncers are marginally literate high school drop outs that couldn't get hired at Mickey D's because the job application asks the hard questions; questions like what is your birfdate, your address and knowing how to spell your full name. Generally too stoopid to pass security guard academy, they go on to work as hired muscle. You don't want that guy armed and making decisions during an active shooter situation IMO.
Still, a CCL guy definitely could have stopped Haj cold in his tracks, he could also have been the first guy the cops dropped upon entering the club. Hell, they figured out long ago that booze and firearms are a bad combo. I'm not sure how historically accurate the depiction is, but most saloons in the old west were rumored to make guys check guns at the door! I don't think this guy picked Pulse because it was a soft target, he picked it to kill gay people.
I'll have to admit that your depiction of bouncers is pretty much spot on, for the most part.
I did work as a bouncer for a while at a rock club with a go-go bar in the back room. Most of the time I felt like an old man watching over children, but then I was in my 30's at the time. I needed a part time job that didn't interfere with my day job, and would pay well enough to cover my car payments. Me and one other guy were the oldest bouncers there, and we would commiserate about how dumb most of the guys were.
Looks like "True Conservative" Mitch McConnell is open to gun control legislation.
Unfortunately, he just may be more conservative than Trump.
In Florida, CC laws state that you cannot carry in this type of venue (club).
And yes, if only one person had had a gun in that club, perhaps not as many people would have been slaughtered. The gunman gambled (successfully) that everyone would be unarmed, which, of course, they were because they were law abiding US citizens.
Of course, you won't hear this from the stupid media or our "leaders". They only want to say we need more gun control, so we can't even protect ourselves when the need arises unless the state allows us.
So, yes, it could have if the law were changed and one could carry anywhere.
It must be frustrating to be an Islamic terrorist in the USA, all you do to draw attention to your cause, and obama and the media will not recognize you
YES!
My Deputy Sheriff neighbor even said it to me yesterday.
We are both disgusted with Barky and his drive to rid us of guns.
In both high profile shootings. Gays are sadly, targets of many who cannot beyond the fact they even exist, & should protect themselves. They might want to look into the this group that Wilkow has talked about in the past
As for the shooting of Christina Grimmie, the singer killed by a selfish nutjob, I know professional musicians, & 1 woman in particular who fronts a metal band, & I do worry about her & her band mates because they are very accessible to people who come to their gigs. I have not talked to her, her brother who plays guitar, or their mom who is their tour manager about this incident in particular. I will be interested to hear from them because as they travel the nation, the laws are different in the various states, cities, counties, & venues. I always tell them to stay safe on their travels, & I mean it.

That's why they have the U.S. Concealed Carry Association.
