Court rejects lawsuit to drain Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. These idiots actually want to drain a reservoir that provides the best water in California in the middle of a drought. About time someone told them to eff off.

  • If anything goes to show that most environmentalists deserve as much attention as a babbling drunken bum on a NYC subway grate, this is it.

  • I think the issue is a lot more complex than it would appear on the surface. I believe the removal of this dam will not affect the availability of much needed water, but will require the state to install treatment plants or filtration that is not currently needed.

Hard core conservationists and the Sierra Club are the driving force behind this push. Their ultimate goal is to remove any trace of man's existence within the park boundaries. This includes all buildings, roads, infrastructure and even the trail systems. They want to restore things back to they way they were when John Muir first started exploring the valley. I can agree with their goals up to a certain degree.

I love Yosemite and we have been going there every year for quite some time now. I can't wait to park the car and climb out of the valley. Get away from the noisy groups of tourists that have their heads buried in their iPhones. We hike up and enjoy the part of Yosemite that only 5% of the visitors ever see. Anyone here ever seen the back of Half Dome from Vogelsang Pass? Amazing! The amazing part is that if you didn't know what you were looking for, you'd probably miss Half Dome because the view is that outstanding. When I'm up there with my family, I do understand why the Sierra Club does what they do. I just think they go too far. How could we enjoy this spectacle without trails to access these high mountain passes? Where would I park my car? They take things to far IMO. But the minute we come out of the high country, I can't wait to get in the car and get the heck out of the chaos of the valley floor. The crowds are not for me, but without the roads and infrastructure, millions of people wouldn't get to see any of it. There will come a time when I can't hike up into the high country and I'll need that infrastructure. I think it would be pretty cool to have my Grandkids push my wheelchair up to were I can see the falls. I won't have that to look forward to if the Sierra Club has their way.

    • If they want to restore things back to they way they were when John Muir first started exploring the valley, they all need to die, because they weren't alive then and the Sierra Club didn't exist.

  • Hey, San Francisco has to get water to heat their city buildings, that is NOT recycled, just passes through the system and into the sewage system, from SOMEWHERE.

  • I say drain the reservoir, let the idiots drink sand! Wait a minute, wrong idea! If the kalifornios run out of drinking water because they let it all run to the ocean even more of the fools will be moving to my state. Santa Fe and Albukookoo are screwed up enough, we don't need any more foreigners.

  • If they want to reclaim some water, they should drain all the Rich Hollywood Liberals swimming pools.

  • This means the Delta Smelt will go extinct by next Monday, thereby causing the entire Pacific Coast ecosystem to collapse within weeks. I hope you're happy.

    • There's like 10 Delta Smelt. It's Jerry Brown's and Diane Feinstein's lame excuse to control the water in the state. If you're a good little farmer and pay them their bribe I mean donate to their reelection campaign you get water. If you're a Republican farmer you can eat shit and die.

    • The Delta Smelt will go extinct?! I better grab my dip net and go harvest a few before they're all gone. They make great fertilizer for my rose bushes, small and bio-friendly.

The easiest way to get these little wankers is to use M-80 or Cherry Bomb fire crackers! AND, the best thing with this technique is that it just stuns the smelt while greening up the vegetation. They float to the top and you use your dip net to gather 'mother gaia's' natural fertilizer, as the liberal pagan's like to say.
