Major Blue City Mayor Is Abandoning Democrats, Joining The GOP – ‘American Cities Need Republicans.’ Well, well, it appears the tide is starting to turn. Here we have someone who doesn’t want to keep voting for the same people and expecting different results.
On Friday, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, who has been in office since 2019, announced that he would be switching his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican in a major shift for the fifth-largest city in America.
Johnson took to The Wall Street Journal to explain his shift, writing, “While Dallas has thrived, elsewhere Democratic policies have exacerbated crime and homelessness.”
“I have no intention of changing my approach to my job. But today I am changing my party affiliation,” he wrote. “Next spring, I will be voting in the Republican primary. When my career in elected office ends in 2027 on the inauguration of my successor as mayor, I will leave office as a Republican.”

I guess he got cocky after getting off on a hung jury last time. He probably thought, "Hey, I can get away with anything!" I gotta point out though that it was different government bribing him last time, so it looks like anybody who meets the price can bribe Ol' Bob Menendez. Dude is totally for sale.
