• I expected this to be a story about all the diseases coming across the border with the "refugees"!

  • Part of the problem, people shitting on the streets in cities all over Kalifornia...Brings rats, disease, and yet people like Gavin Newscum don't give a shit, they want to tax our drinking water at $10.00 a month to keep the water clean...Perhaps if they didn't encourage the cities to look like the third world, we wouldn't need a F*cking water tax.

• Country folks have been using hydrogen peroxide to clean cuts and scrapes longer than I have been alive. It was as common as iodine and castor oil in a medicine cabinet when I was young, still is in my home. It must work pretty good, I have never gotten an infection from a little cut or scrape.

    • Turpentine? Your momma made you swallow turpentine? Are you sure your momma liked you?

      • Turpentine was used in liniments but we did drink kerosene. Kerosene mixed with a little honey was a good worm medicine so we got dosed twice per year. None of us ever had worms either!

        • Worms? Where the hell did you grow up, Somalia? Here in Michigan the only worms we worry about are in our dogs. And even our dogs don't have to drink kerosene.

        • I don't think any of us ever had ringworm or intestinal worms but our folks were going to make sure!

        • When I was a kid, we had worms, the ones you put on a fish hook.

        • Yes, he was lucky to live that close to a school. I had to walk so far, in order to get there on time I sometimes had to start for school before I got home from the previous school-day. As I passed myself I would say "Good morning" as I headed for the school, and I would answer "Good night" as I headed home.

          Ringworm especially and intestinal worms were a problem in many rural parts of the country in the 1950's and 60's. Pinworms were a real problem caused by eating under cooked pork which is why your mothers always cooked pork chops to death and the baked ham always came out dry. Modern farming practices have eliminated that problem but many older folks still think you have to cook pork to a shoe leather doneness before it is safe to eat. And I never walked to school, it was 10 miles away so my mother took me to school. Unlike you poor folks my parents owned a car.

      • Cuts, scrapes, poison ivy, jumping off the roof with a sheet parachute aches/pains/sprains.

        • I remember as a kid on my grandparents farm that every time I got into some poison ivy my grandmother would slather calamine lotion all over me. I hated that pink and smelly stuff, but it did help relieve the itch.

        • Calamine worked good on chicken pox too. If you got it scratching just made the problem worse so relieving the itch was a big help in getting over it.

  • Iodine! WTF ever happened to iodine? That was always the first thing my mom reached for, and then you walked around with a red stain for a week.

    • By the early 1980's when my kids were growing up it was getting hard to find. The government was already starting that go see your doctor crap if your child skinned a knee, they didn't like good old fashioned home remedies that had been working for a hundred years.

    • Same here. castor oil was already out when I was a kid. My dad said no matter what was wrong with him they gave him castor oil....lol

      • Castor oil was a cure all for belly aches, constipation, anything that was wrong with your digestive tract!

• Hydrogen peroxide is making a big comeback in preventing institutional outbreaks of exotic germs/fungi: it kills them before they can develop any resistance. (Trump should try this on the MSM).

  • Hydrogen peroxide truly is an amazing substance. Seriously. The number of uses and the ease of use are amazing. Sometimes I use it just as a test. Pour it into a cut and if it bubbles up it's found infection to fight, doesn't bubble up and I know the cut is clean. I make sure I use toothpaste with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in it. The stuff is miraculous.

    • In the proper concentration, you can power a rocket dragster with it.

    • Great for stuck band-aids. Used some for that last week.

    • Do you bleach your hair with it? LOL

      • Unfortunately I didn't need peroxide to turn my hair white.

        • Me either. I just looked in the mirror one day and said oh shit! My hair is grey! lol

        • Thank goodness I at least have hair, I don't care what color it is. My head is too bumpy and grooved up to look good bald. It would look like I was walking around with a walnut on top of my neck.
