  • Did anyone hear from Poppajoe? I believe he's on the side of Florida that got hit by the hurricane. Hope they're OK.

    • My siblings both have condos on Pine Island off Fort Myers, but I don't think they're down there for the winter yet. When they do get there, I wonder if there will still be a Pine Island, let alone still a condominium complex. Those barrier islands come and go, which people tend to forget when they're building on them. One good storm and a whole island can just disappear.

  • What's happening in Russia right now is truly amazing. Check out the videos at this link:

First Mobilized Russians Are Captured in Ukraine and Other Stories From Putin’s Magnificent ‘Partial Mobilization' – RedState

If you can watch that collection of videos without laughing out loud, you have no sense of humor. 20-mile lines at the border of guys trying to get out of Russia to avoid the draft. Funny as hell. Especially the subtitled video with the new "commander" addressing his new conscripts. Hilarious. "I just got here like you, they put me in charge, I have no more idea what's going on than you," is basically what he said, and "I have health problems but apparently nothing bad enough to send me home." That famous dry Russian humor is evident even in subtitles. One conscript was called up, sent to the front without training, and captured by Ukraine all within three days. Ukraine has a standing offer to accept surrender from any Russian soldier and NOT send him back to Russia, and guys with call-up notices all over Russia are calling to surrender even though they aren't officially in the army yet.

  • Today is September 11th. It has been 21 years since more than 3,000 American Citizens died, it has been 9 years since 4 American Citizens were left to die in order to cover up the actions of the Obama Administration. Many more have died since. Died from the toxic elements released by the crashes and collapses. What's changed? Not much, except We the People have had our rights reduced by the Patriot Act (warned by Sen. Paul). Our enemies are right where they were on September 11th 20001. The military industrial complex has made billions, all the while we've given our sons & daughters to be used up and tossed away. On this day in 2012 our bravest were left to die in order to coverup the corruption of the obama administration. What they all failed to realize is that true Americans fight until the bitter end and will kill our enemies. To those who stood their ground and fought in Benghazi. We the People thank you. To Tyrone Wood and Glenn Doherty your sacrifice is remembered by those who have and will continue the fight. Rest my brothers.

  • They changed the rules in Alaska to help Democrats win elections they could not win by fair means, just another example and another way of election fraud... sort of like what they've done to elections in California. Palin and the other Republican in the three-way race took over 60% of the votes, but the new "redistribution system" put the third-place candidate into Congress. And since the last guy they sent to Congress lasted about half a century, now that she's in she'll be there for the foreseeable future.

The Unted States of America has the most fucked up elections in the world. We make a mockery of democracy.

      • No, I think Palin and the other Republican split that 60%. But clearly and obviously the people of Alaska wanted a Republican in Congress, not a Democrat.

    • It also allows MooCowski to retain her sinate seat. When did elections become like winning a Heisman Trophy, MVP or some sort of other award?

  • Went to my 50th high school reunion yesterday, played in a family tennis tournament today... I don't know if there is any pair of activities one could participate in within a 24-hour period that could make you feel older.

    • My 50th HS reunion is in October. I'll refrain from seeing the hot chicks who turned into cat ladies.

      • Mostly everybody was plump and unrecognizable. There were three or four women who were still legitimately hot, and I didn't know them from high school at all. Guys take a bigger hit because most of us don't color our hair so even if we look pretty much the same everybody goes, "Oh my god, you have white hair now!" To which I would reply, "At least I still have hair, dipshit!"

Me being me I did commit one awkward faux pas that will make me cringe at least until the next reunion ten years from now: there were two girls in my class named Mary with a last name starting with V and one of them just lost her husband, also a classmate, to COVID, and I hugged the wrong Mary V and said, "Oh, Mary, I was so sorry to hear about your husband!" I really liked the guy, a retired Navy guy, so I was unusually effusive in my sympathy. To which she replied, "My husband is fine, what are you talking about?"

During the silence that followed, the guy I had been talking to prior to that muttered in my ear, "There's an awkward moment we'll all remember."

  • Australia has apparently stopped censoring information about the harmful effects of the COVID shots. It's a crack in the door, perhaps a sign that the truth will eventually win out. Australia has been extra bonkers about COVID itself and shot requirements, so it's a weird place to see the worldwide embargo on COVID-shot information start to ease, but hey, God works in mysterious ways.

  • Let’s discuss the amazing bill that was passed in the Senate on Sunday

thank you Manchin for coming through. This is the biggest climate bill yet!
