We were a bit surprised to find the left so silent on Mr. Kagan’s obvious disdain for the First Amendment. But then we remembered, when the book burning starts, Heather Has Two Mommies is likely to get a reprieve.

Where all people who freaked out when they thought Sarah Palin tried to ban books?
I always thought that the false accusations against Palin for wanting to ban books was especially absurd. According to the fake narrative she was interested in keeping certain books out of the library (and in some version just out of certain sections). But somehow the very same people who were aghast that a person might regulate the content available at a "publicly owned" venue were in favor of controlling the content of talk radio and had the authority to do so because airwaves are supposedly "publicly owned".
Outside of indigent idiots who use the computer at the public library to watch porn, who uses the public library? Who cares what kind of books they have, who goes there to read them?
I go to the library and I get books and videos from there :-( I don't use the internet there because I have the internet at home, but the library is a great place to go for books and things. Sometimes one doesn't have the funds to be buying books all the time.
KQ, You are correct, & you are using the library in the manner in which it is intended. But many do not, & how many stories do you see in the news where some a-hole is using the computer at the public library to look at porn. So I'm sorry about lumping you in with my generalization. Plus I agree with you about buying books, that can get spendy, & 1 way around the prices is buying used on Amazon.

I think we should appreciate open debate... because with it, she would have been outed a long time ago. It's the racists that stay in the shadows we should fear most. Our biggest problem is getting the media to ask real questions... or questions at all, for that matter. We need to pull the ideologies out into the light and look at them closely. I think we are seeing a shift in wanting the truth - and the push back from the left about being exposed for what they really are... keep up the fight!
