  • Appalling, just APPALLING.

Well, let me think on that a bit more. FTA: "David Cruz of San Antonio and Valentin Reyes of Farmers Branch, Texas, and Jonathan Ryan. . . are both landlords who do not check whether their tenants are legally in the country."

Should it be the responsibility of a landlord to check passports and Green Cards? For that burden to be on an employer is one thing. That's rather different, I think, than an organized conspiracy to hide & shelter illegals. If you WANT to do so, as a landlord, that's fine, of course. But I'm not sure placing a burden of law enforcement on a property owner and his right to make contracts is warranted.

    • If they can run their credit, they can check citizenship. I still say the best way to get the illegals out is NOT to round them up and deport them, but jail all those who illegally support them in any way. Employers, landlords, government officials, everyone. When they have no job, no benefits, no place to live, they'll leave on their own.

  • Erm... they are illegal... I-LLE-GAL... it is in the word.... they aren't supposed to be here...

This country is aborting itself and everyone in it.

  • Judicial misconduct?

These activist judges (regardless of who appointed them) are part of the weaponry being utilized against us.

My question is an open one.... wouldn't it have already been against the law to harbor illegals before the Texas law's passage? What's the point of all this? Was the law enacted for the purpose of instigating this very response?

      • Two bad things about Bush in one day. This is my problem with the Bush family. With the Bushes, it's not about principle and what's right, it's about who you know.
