And by the way, how smart is a certain unnamed Internet columnist who’s been telling everybody for a decade that electric cars will never make sense until supercapacitors are scaled up to car size? Well, guess what: Lamborghini has a new concept car that not only heals itself like a Terminator but uses carbon nanotube supercapacitors… which take up no space because they are actually formed into the car’s body panels, recharge very quickly, and hold more charge than batteries could. Everything Tesla has been doing? Utter nonsense propped up by government subsidies.

That thing would bottom out on a speed bump.

You know how it works: once something exists, the engineers go to work on it and figure out how to make it better and cheaper. Elon Musk guessed wrong and the only question remaining is what will he do with all those dumb-ass battery factories he's been building everywhere with government loans?
He'll sell them back to the government at only a small mark-up. Progressives will swell with pride.
