I just wish someone in the WH Press corps had the moxy to ask Barry if these two male attackers look like they could have been his son, ala Trayvon Martin.
I am grateful they didn't murder him and I am grateful that the fools posted this online so they could get picked up. I am sure they are idiots who believed Obama would not mind and even if picked up he would come to their defense.
This is a terrible crime. A gun wouldn't have helped because he is of diminished capacity and may have not qualified for a weapon, but where were his family? Where was he picked from? No one called the police looking for him? 48 hours they had him!
These animals need to be in prison for life.
His parents dropped him off at a McDonalds close to home. When he did not come home they reported him missing. My late brother had special needs. He was very trusting and loved to feel independent. He would ride his bike to a nearby cafe every morning to have coffee.
I do believe in independence for those of special needs, but I also believe that drop offs should include pick ups and making sure they stay indoors and not leave with anyone not even a friend... or else spend the afternoon with him or have a person of trust as a companion... or else ensure he or she understands that they need to be back home at a certain time or AFTER they are done with the activity they were at, regardless of other people or stimuli that tries to steer him from that.
It DOES depend entirely on the capacity of the individual as some can be far more able to discern danger than others. Independence needs to come with levels as it depends entirely on how the individual displays ability to discern things in life, that may or may not hurt them... ALSO one must consider the environment of where the individual is in.
He may have been in a "safe" neighborhood, but not sure that means anything in Chicago.
More information is coming out. Seems the victim went to school with and was friends with one of his abductors. The victim was supposed to be spending the night with that friend. It does seem like the parents put too much trust in the victims friend.
If true I go back to my original question... 24-48 hours the family didn't hassle the "friend"? Canvass the neighborhood where the friend lives? Have the police find the friend?

He was taken in a small suburb of Chitcago where the feral animals stole a van and took him to the city. This is why suspicious persons need to be policed.

Chicago Police Cmdr. Kevin Duffin said the victim was an acquaintance of one of the offenders and they had attended school together. The victim was special needs which makes this an especially heinous crime. They need to be prosecuted as a hate crime to the fullest extent.
