GOP candidate charged after allegedly ‘body slamming’ reporter.

We here at IHTM are old enough to remember when, now, Senator Al Franken was fairly well cheered for physically attacking the public.

Tired of several ranting detractors trying to shout down Howard Dean at a New Hampshire rally on Monday, Al Franken cleared the air by knocking them down. Not rhetorically, mind you. He aimed himself at one of the cacophonous critics and charged. “I was a wrestler so I used a wrestling move,” Franken said.

  • He said that the "other guy" from the Guardian "did the same thing" and he was sick of it... that makes me think that they KNEW he had a temper and they were in a orchestrated quest to goad him into doing something... IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT HE WAS RIGHT TO DO IT, he still should have shown restraint, with that said hatred of journalists and the media in general is real... so... anyway...

  • Get this: he won the election anyway. I guess Montana voters took a look at the two combatants and decided which they liked more, the body-slamming grouchy conservative or the obnoxious prima donna journalist. And decided wisely.

  • The eyewitness story is being walked back. It's about time these snowflakes are put in their place. They feel as if they can treat those that have a different position like garbage. Then when they run into a real man or woman and get bitched slapped they cry like little children.

    I for one I'm glad this happened. It'll give some other "reporter" cause to think. If that's possible.

    • The eyewitnesses work for Fox News... She repeated the story like four times that I saw yesterday... what did she walk back?

  • He attacked the OBNOXIOUS as heck reporter... there is no way around it. He has a bad temper and whatever happens to him, happens. I don't feel bad for him, nor the reporter, but the reporter was just being obnoxious not violent, no self defense issue here... and WE KNOW that Democrats are treated differently, that does not lessen what this guy did.

    • Had it been a democrat politician they would have the reporter "escorted" out of the room.

  • Nothing like a good old ass kicking when the enemy appears in the room. this guy from the guardian was just looking to score points and got his ass handed to him. I wish a few more politicians would bitch slap a reporter..Maybe they wouldn't keep asking really stupid questions, or they could go back to asking Obama what his favorite ice cream flavor is..
