Prosecutors believe that Mark D’Amico and Kate McClure conspired with homeless man, Johnny Bobbitt to create their get-rich-quick scheme in 2017, NBC’s Philadelphia affiliate reported Wednesday.

Another reason not to give money to strangers. I've given to GFM causes, but I knew the people personally.
Heard last night the woman didn't know about the scheme until just recently. That's what her lawyer is saying.
That made me laugh a bit. She wasn't there to drive the Beemer, and didn't go to Las Vegas?
If you read or listen to the story closely, the "homeless vet" did this exact same thing before, a few years ago in Florida. That was one of the things that led authorities to be suspicious. And the wife who supposedly ran out of gas tweeted to her friend that it was a scam, a nice little piece of evidence when they started looking into the matter. And of course as soon as the donations started coming in the couple ran out and bought a new BMW, started traveling all over the place for expensive vacations, etc. All in all, not the brightest three people in the world.
All three should be hung in front of a courthouse....
