In case you’re wondering why Marco Rubio did so well in the last debate

In case you’re wondering why Marco Rubio did so well in the last debate… well, gee, it turns out the guy writing the debate questions for Fox News is the father of Rubio’s press secretary.

  • Uh, and what about previous debates? Come on, we're getting a little paranoid here, either that or Rubio Derangement Syndrome is starting to spread with the Zika virus. Funny, I thought Sen. Rubio was a Tea Party standard bearer just a couple years ago.

So which were the obvious softball-setup questions for Sen. M. Rubio (RINO) to knock out of the park?

But hey, all of a sudden Sarah Palin is a RINO, too.

    • Rubio ran as a TEA Party candidate, but he is anything but a TEA Party Senator. He is owned by Norman Braman and the sugar industry. Those of us on the right who live in Florida have been disappointed with him. We get he speaks well and his speech writers know how to whip up emotions and sentiment, but he is a pure politician who will do nothing to reduce or limit government if he were to be elected. He, Ryan, and McConnell would be an awful combination in my opinion.

      • ABSOLUTELY!!!
Rubio ran as TEA Party, and then wrote the DREAM Act! Was part of the Gang of 8 amnesty team, and overall a huge disappointment to us Florida voters. If he gets the nomination, I will write in Ted Cruz.

  • The establishment, as well as FOX News want Rubio. Fox always goes with the establishment candidate. The establishment candidate has lost the last two general elections. Will they ever learn?

  • CRUZ WINS IOWA!!! 28%
    Trump comes in 2nd 24%
    Rubio 3rd 23%
    Carson 4th 9%
    Paul 5%
    Bush 3%
    Kasich 2%
    Fiorina 2%
    Huckabee 2% Drops out
    Christie 2%
    Santorum 1%
    Gilmore <1%
Clinton 50% and Sanders 49% too close to call
    O'Malley 1% drops out

I think it's time for anyone with 5% or less to quit and allow for consolidation for the rest.

    • And Jeb spent a shitload of superpac money...His backers might start to jump from upper story windows...I wish he would just quit..He is a waste of space and the dumbest of the Bush clan...

      • He and his superpacs are flooding the Florida airwaves with campaign ads too. I'm getting sick of his face.

  • Cruz did a little worse, Rubio did a little better, all because of two things. The questions asked and the fact that Trump was not on the stage.

With The Don gone Kelly and Co. asked the candidates direct questions instead of prefacing every question with Trump said this, what do you think? Or Trump said that, what is your opinion?

I don't have cable or satellite so I didn't get to watch the dog and pony show but judging from the news I read and the clips I watched it was the same old, same old. The moderators asked the same old questions, with a little different wording, and we heard the same old answers just polished up a bit. Seven debates was enough, we have already heard all the questions and answers, it's time to call it a day and let the candidates get to campaigning.

  • Nothing like having the inside track. I wonder how the people that were recently swayed toward Rubio would feel if they knew he had a cheat sheet for the debate?

  • My, my, that does explain some things doesn't it. I guess ole Rupert likes his RINOs to stay bought.

  • Ah Marco needs to move over to the democrat debate and get more of those softball questions...
