I don't know if giving them access to the dollar is going to help or hurt them and us.
While we are still the reserve currency, we are in big trouble with the dollar's valuation, and if the World Bank ever decides to change the currency to something else, we are so doubly screwed, that it could cause our complete and utter devastation.
Besides, if the rumors of Fort Knox being empty turn out to be true, you might as well pack it in and head for a remote mountain hideout and become a hermit. The riots and destruction coming from the dependent class will tear the country apart. They won't stand for losing their freebies.
