“It’s easier to get HIV in California than it is to get a gun.” Yes and while many new gun laws abound that create new felonies, you can now spread HIV with impunity because thanks to California State Senator Scott Weiner it’s been reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor.

A guy named Wiener was the guy who came up with this..go figure..looking at his picture he looks like he has it.
These people do not understand human nature or they don't care... or this is a big pharma ploy or just evil or a social justice move to eliminate stigma by having more infected which is evil...
something really dark and evil is around this bill and why didn't the people of california vote on this?
Maybe nature is going to do the right thing and win, regardless who gets blamed.
I guess it would be homophobic and drugophobic to inquire if this legislation might have disparate impact on gays and drug addicts.
It will have an impact on everyone for HIV + people do not have to disclose their disease at blood banks. If the blood banks fail to do good testing OR DON'T CARE OR there is an evil employee they can use that blood on an innocent person that needs blood.
Good point.
So, democrat voters, killing democrat voters. And only getting what amounts to a traffic ticket for knowingly doing so? Does it make me a bad person if i'm not getting my shorts in a knot over this piece of legislation?
Not necessarily. Those who rape knowing they had the disease won't get a stiffer penalty and they won't care if the victim is a Democrat or Republican, etc... those who know they have it and are bisexual or whatever won't have to disclaim it and they can affect any type of voter. This is insidious.
HIV IS a death sentence.
Knowingly infect someone I love or care about.....
Spread HIV, but don't own a gun.
God forbid we accuse any member of a politically connected official victim class of committing a crime. If HIV was being spread by heterosexual white males, they would probably make it a capital crime.
It should be a crime if you do it knowingly but that debate has been going on for decades now. Also, Kalifornia. That's all you really need to know.
