It's colder than Her Majesty's chance of becoming President...no, wait, that would be below absolute zero. It's colder than the chances of socialism ever producing economic prosperity...hmm...that would also be below absolute zero. Maybe it's not so cold after all.
So last night Consumers Energy here in Michigan put out an emergency alert about how they were running out of natural gas, so would everybody please turn their thermostats down to 65. Assholes. Like other energy companies around the nation, Consumers is on TV 24/7 advertising their brilliant efforts at building windmills and solar energy farms, but now, in an Arctic freeze when people need heat, they're unable to meet the demand? Fuck 'em. Obviously the people running Consumers aren't responsible enough to be running a major corporation.
Luckily for me, I get my gas from a different company and they don't seem to have a shortage, so ha.
I know a couple of people in Michigan that dealt with CE's nonsense. In their case they had plenty of wood, a woodburning stove and fireplace.
