Libraries not carrying your book or children not being required to read your book is not censorship. Governments claiming that nobody can publish, sell or buy your book is censorship. Given this very important distinction we suggest that the next time this organization needs to award a champion of free speech they start with the SCOTUS justices that gave us the Citizen United decision and not a mere writer of pleasantly diverting children’s novels.

When I worked in a music store I had parents coming in to buy 2 Live Crew for their kids (and very smugly informing me that that's what they were doing), because they "didn't believe in censorship."
I always told them that putting an advisory sticker on something is not censorship. Locking poets in prison for speaking against the government was censorship.
