Free speech organisation to honour Harry Potter author ‘as a vocal proponent of free expression and access to literature and ideas’
Libraries not carrying your book or children not being required to read your book is not censorship. Governments claiming that nobody can publish, sell or buy your book is censorship. Given this very important distinction we suggest that the next time this organization needs to award a champion of free speech they start with the SCOTUS justices that gave us the Citizen United decision and not a mere writer of pleasantly diverting children’s novels.
