  • The cost of doing business goes up, businesses find ways to either reduce the cost of doing business or they close. McDonalds has figured out the simplest way to cut cost is to use technology and reduce the work force. Way to go dip shits Raise the minimum wage to what all of you call a living wage and now those who had the job are looking for a job.

Utopia in full view for all to see.

  • Get used to this. 4 people will be working instead of 18. Kiosks, robo-burger, the robotic fry machine, all of it will kick the $15 minimum wage supporters between the legs. But the $15 minimum is for union members whose payscales are tied to the minimum. Those who are at or near the minimum who think they are getting a pay raise are idiots, who won't have the intellect to figure out who they should be pissed at.

  • I smell a McLawsuit brewing. Someone too stupid to handle a coffee cup without a lid on it will undoubtedly char themselves putting a McLid on their java.

  • Self service in truth is the way to go in a lot of places anyway, but yeah even though the initial costs will be high they will pay off over time.

  • I'm looking forward to it. The Mickey D's near me is staffed with the slowest, laziest, people I have ever seen. I could make my own food much faster.

    • I was at a deli over by Stanford U one time. There's also a lot of financial places there, lots of hottie secretaries. I got in line behind these two young ladies dressed to the hilt. They start asking all kinds of questions about the sandwiches. I finally got pissed off and said it's a sandwich you're not ordering dinner at Chez Panisse. Got the death stare from both of them. The guy behind the counter was working hard to stifle a laugh.

    • Two days ago I walked into a KFC and ordered two thighs and a leg. It was like I asked them to calculate the orbit of Saturn's moons with an abacus. Those three pieces specifically? No meal? No sides? Are you sure? It took three people at the cash register to figure out how to sell me three pieces of chicken... at a chicken place.

      • I tried that once, except it was four pieces. I gave up, they were unable to do it. The manager finally said they could only sell what was on the menu. Arrrrrgggh! BTW that particular KFC is out of business now.

      • LOL!! I know! I always order all dark meat when I go to KFC and they think I'm nuts! I do usually get a bucket or meal though, so it's easier for them to figure it out.

        • Sometimes the stupid is on both sides of the counter, though. i was second in line at a KFC, and lady in front of me had a question. "Just what exactly is the difference between regular and extra crispy?" I felt sorry for the poor girl at the register.

          • I did something sort of similar. Was in a Burger King and ordered a Big Mac. However it really stumped the order taker because she turned around to look for it on the menu board.

          • I normally avoid McDonalds like the plague. I was in Denver two weeks ago when the snowstorm blew in and shut down the city. Only place open near my hotel was Mickeyds. I waited in the drive thru for twenty minutes. I ordered a #1 combo and a Coke. The guys at the window had it wrong when I finally got there. It took the manager coming over, she corrected and placed the order. Then she asked me if I wanted ketchup on my cheeseburgers! i repeated my order. She corrected it again and left. Then the guy at the register says I owe over 9 bucks. For a #1 I ask? He says no, that $9.XX for a number 5 and two cheeseburgers. I told him to enjoy his career and drove off. Cup o noodles for that night!

          • I tend to stop there because I love the sausage mcmuffins and hash browns, and it's one of the few breakfast items that don't include eggs. I don't eat eggs.
Last month, they were running a 2 for $3 special on sausage mcmuffins with egg, and every time I went to the drive up and started ordering, they would interrupt me and ask if I wanted the one with egg. I finally got angry enough and told the order drone to "shut up and let me finish my order, I didn't ask for egg because I don't want it, just give me what I ordered". After that, I ordered fast enough to not give them a chance to ask me anything, and if they did ask after I finished ordering, I would yell NO!

          • i actually like their sausage biscuit. Unfortunately theres something in them that stays with me for the better part of the day! Sausage burps get tiresome after a few hours.

And yeah, the "did you want fries/cheese/apple pie with that order" upsell ticks me off too!.
