Michigan doctor arrested for performing genital mutilations on little girls. The Justice Department is refusing to state the religion of the doctor or her patients. The criminal complaint calls them “some members of a particular religious and cultural community (hereafter ‘the Community’).” Good grief. Like everybody in America doesn’t know what religion would mutilate little girls.

Hard to believe this barbaric ignorant bullshit is happening right here in America in my own state.
I first heard about it happening here in the 90's (couldn't find anything that old but: http://www.newsweek.com/fgm-rates-have-doubled-us-2004-304773 more than doubled in the past ten years) as a kid when I was living overseas. I remember even seeing a Law & Order episode about it around that time. Episode "Ritual": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_%26_Order_(season_8). I remember being the first time I had consciously become aware of it and then found out that there were incidences and thinking that was disgusting and evil. Law & Order: SVU have done episode(s) about it as well. These are liberal shows so it is a bit wow.
I actually recommend the episode. It has stuck to my mind all of these decades later. This in the end is about not allowing women to have sexual pleasure, which is absolutely insane. It shows also (even if unplanned) the misogyny in Islam as well as how women (and men) are enslaved to this evil religion and how many don't even realize it until something bad happens to them.
Now that I think about it, it was probably one of my first looks into Arab/Islamic cultural practices.
I guess people just weren't paying attention, or maybe it was something that people thought it was taken care of and obviously it wasn't.
By the way she was DENIED bail today.....So this bitch gets to sit in jail.
