Why is it that we believe Marco Rubio when he talks tough, but think that equally tough words from Mitch McConnell are simply a prelude to surrender. It’s almost like McConnell is a French name and surrender is genetic.
Despite our doubts, McConnell did talk tough. Is it possible that he means it?

Let me get this straight. Was he saying that Obama wants to preserve entitlements, or that he himself wants to help Obama preserve entitlements? Because this entitlement crap has got to go.
Exactly! Medicare, social security and SS Disability need to go away now! Ol granny needs to get off her keister, get a job and hustle her own insurance! I'm sick of footing an 80-somethings insurance premiums. No can work, no can live. If family can't take care of you, find a RR trestle and croak.
I'd prefer that you leave the RR's out of it. It is hard on the RR people to be forced to participate in suicides.

I don't know anyone named "Barry," Perlcat. I got that number from the U.S. Census Bureau. But, since it was a couple of years old, I checked the most recent data, and the number is now 50.7 million.

He has a point. If the Republicans capitulate on the tax hike when it all goes to hell they will be blamed. They have to stand strong and hope of course that this course of action works out. If it works though, I am quite sure that Obama would make it all about him, but at least it would be the best for the country.
Simple because Mitch talks the talk but is unwilling to walk the walk. He needs to take a couple of lessons from the junior senator from KY. Rand Paul so far has talked the talk and done the walk unlike the senior senator from KY. Mitch stand up and be the leader or get the hell out of the way and let someone who has the stones and back bone to do battle. Get in the trenches and get dirty trust those that have done so. It's not so bad, actually its quite fun to do so.

Mitch and "super tan boy" can beat the drum, but they seem to fall short when it comes to battle. They need to get buried next time they come up for election. Put an'R' in there with balls. I hope he realizes that we Kentukians are keeping tabs on him. This is a 'blue-dog' democrat state and fairly conservative to boot. He also knows that if the Republicans cave here, it's the RINO's that are going to pay the price and he knows who butters his bread!
