More than a dozen MSD students file lawsuit against Broward County. What? You mean after all the commotion it wasn’t the gun? Paging David Hogg.

More than a dozen Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students and recent graduates filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Broward County, as well as specific individuals for the “severe psychological injury and trauma” they suffered in the Feb. 14 Parkland shooting.

Those named in the lawsuit include former school resource Deputy Scot Peterson, Broward Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jan Jordan, former MSD baseball coach and security guard Andrew Medina, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel and three unidentified BSO deputies referred to as John Does 1-3.

  • Sorry guys, I'm going to call bullshit on this lawsuit. The families whose children were murdered should be suing Broward Co., the cowards of Broward, the school system, anyone they can think of and I hope they win big time.

    But this "severe psychological injury and trauma" crap is something else. I have never thought that should be grounds for a lawsuit. I'm betting most of these kids didn't see a damn thing, they were hiding with their teachers in a classroom. I'm sure they were scared but scared does not lead to "severe psychological injury and trauma" or every one of us here would be walking basket cases.

    Before all of you start ripping my ass I want you to think very carefully about one thing. Minor children cannot file a lawsuit like this, it is not legal. These lawsuits are coming from the parents, looking at some easy money by playing on peoples emotions and the legal system. And in my opinion that is wrong, parents should not be using their kids for monetary gain.

    Ok. Let the ripping begin, I'm a big boy and can handle it.

  • I hope like hell that this lawsuit is successful. The idiots who eff up time & again in dealing with guys like this that could prevent these sort of events need to be smashed.
